I was at a local restaurant and watched as an old man of about 80 gave a hug to a waitress then proceeded to let his hand wander down and grab her butt. I protested to the manager who said "Oh..the girls let him do it because he tips them 60 bucks every time." I looked at him shocked. I said "You shouldn't let him do it. Where will you draw the line. When he tries to put a hand down their pants or pull their shirt off in front of everyone? How do you know you are not encouraging him to do this to other women at other restaurants? It shouldn't be allowed." After leaving the restaurant, I messaged the owner and told him what was going on. Not sure if anything came of it, but I didn't go back.

I've cried from anxiety attacks and panic attacks, but the real time I cried because I was truly crushed was when my aunt (mom's sister) was in the hospital dying from liver failure. She was more of a mom to me than my own mother. When they were getting ready to remove her from life support, I went to say goodbye and touched her arm. It was cold and it hit me right there that she was about to die. I started choking up and bawling. Her best friend came and held me until I stopped saying "she's going to be alright now" over and over again. My Aunt and I both loved purple and dragonflies. The next day, I came out to see a blue and purple dragonfly hanging upside down in front of my living room window taking a rest on the overhang. It made me smile and cry at the same time.

The problem was, during the height of Gameboy in 1989 and 1999, the rechargeable batteries that were available weren't powerful enough to last long in a Gameboy. There are many men out there that are abusers and one of the first things they do is get the wife/girlfriend pregnant so that they have added leverage over their victim. Now, instead of the woman being able to escape on her own, she has to consider the safety of her child. And there are a lot of women, like my husbands mother, that stepped in the way of his fists to protect her sons from the abuse. His father took advantage of the fact that his mother was a devout Baptist and would never get an abortion because of her faith. She finally had the strength to kick him to the curb and he never came back because his three sons were now old enough to put him in the hospital if he laid a hand on their mother....

In the case of a friend of mine, his wife comes from Mexico and her family is very close. They are expecting the first son/grandson in a few months and are planning a flight to Mexico for fall so that her father can see his grandson. It would be 2500 miles for them to drive there. A flight is faster and allows more time with the in-laws. Personally, I would never fly with a child under age two as it would be so exhausting. But I did drive across the USA coast to coast with a 4 year old. Still exhausting.....

Race just gives them an EXTRA outlet. If you think you're "friends" with someone racist, think again. Their racism is a red flag regarding their general lack of principles everywhere else. There are many things one would like in the world. The difference between acting like a baby and acting like an adult, is the awareness that our behavior impacts others, and that as an adult we have to control our reactions even though we have strong emotions. That man was more annoying and noisy than the baby, with none of the exuses. When flights are made available where the passengers get to decide who flies with them, that's called a "private jet". Anyone who cannot afford such luxuries has to behave like an adult. Complaining will never help, and will make everone elses experience worse. Grin and bear it.

i live close to an abortion clinic. i'm a christian, and it makes me so mad to see other christians yelling at women going in to get an abortion, telling them they are murderers and that they are going to hell. they scream at them relentlessly. it should be illegal to harass then like that. that's not how jesus dealt with sinners. i also don't believe all abortions are wrong. and christians should not be out there judging people without knowing their circumstances.
