Hi! I'm Elyse-the Squid. I am gay, and go by she/her pronouns but am starting to wonder if I am agender. My favorite animals are squids, beluga whales, and walruses(weird combo, I know). I am an aspiring author, and am working on the second draft of a book. My favorite books are The Hunger Games, Warriors, Percy Jackson, etc.
Fun Fact: Alley Cat(Some of you might know her) is my twin sister!
That's all for now! Bye :)
Hey Pandas, What's The Biggest Stroke Of Luck You've Ever Had?
Not getting into the uni I had as my top preference- meant I went to a much smaller one that was a better fit for me.

Beginning of this school year, my teacher advertised a poster about joining backstage/props and set crew for the fall play. I thought why not and joined, as it needed no experience and I needed more extracurriculars. I gained new friends, a newfound passion for theatre, and the love of a cute boy who likes theatre as much as I do! I would've never met my boyfriend if i hadn't impulsively joined--and I feel lucky pretty much every day that i did

I don’t see the civil wars in Liberia and Sierra Leone mentioned very often. Child soldiers were forced to [unalive] their families, sexually abused, d***ged, taught to drink human blood and sever limbs. And it was all basically for nothing. Most of the militias didn’t really have political loyalties or even an end goal. It was just mass insanity. Children as young as seven were literally torturing, [ending] and eating people, and now they’re adults having to live with that and reintegrate into normal life.

There is a social phenomenon called the “liking gap” where there tends to be a discrepancy between how much a person thinks another person likes them and that other person’s actual opinion of them.
Studies have found that people tend to *underestimate* how much people like them and want to spend time with them.

You cannot save everyone. But the small kindnesses you share can dramatically affect the people around you, even if they feel insignificant to you.
Shout out to the guy at the supermarket the other day who patted me on the shoulder and said, "You're going to be ok." He had no way of knowing that I suffer from chronic depression, and that I'm in a dark place at the moment. He just thought I looked sad or empty or whatever and took a moment to remind me that it's ok to be human. It was nothing to him, but in that moment it was everything for me.

Solar is already one of the cheapest forms of energy humanity has ever created, and it's still getting cheaper.
