She mentioned in one of the comments that she lives with her mom. I'm guessing she's not always with her dad, but maybe I'm wrong. Either way though, she's only 17. Unless she gets emancipated, if she lives in the US, she may be stuck until she's of age. At least she has a job though.

I had to have it added to my iep that I had ibs and couldn't be denied bathroom privileges. One day one of my teachers basically said I couldn't go because I kept leaving during their class. Joke was on his though, because my mom had already told me to just leave it I had to, and had informed the higher ups that I would. I walked out, went to the bathroom, and then went straight to the principal's office. The vp was awful but the principal understood. Sent me and my favorite guidance counselor back to the classroom to collect my things with me (it was the next period and I had finished my work for the class before I left). Guidance counselor gave him one hell of a talking too. Substitute teachers were always difficult too.
