My birthname is Raden Damajanti. It has been changed to Damayanti due to the new rules of national spelling. I am female ,68 years old. I was born in Bandung, capital of West Java, Indonesia, and I am currently living there too. In my younger days I got my Bachelor degree from university of Indonesia where I took English Literature as my major. Having studied the subjects and the university environment has left long lasting marks in my mind. I've developed an attachment to those amazing works of great authors, American and English. With my sufficient ability to use English I have always brought myself closer to the works of those great authors and been immensely fascinated by the stories despite the distant settings in time and places. I eventually made-believe that I probably could learn to write stories too. Some how I could not train myself in creative writing as times proceeded. I had to find a job to earn a living. I eventually got some jobs precariously . I worked as a local language teacher for the staff of foreign companies, and an embassy in the capital. Other jobs that I did were, tourist guide, a cashier of a reastaurant, leveling up my proffesion a bit I got a job as an office secretary in a centre of cultural studies. At the same time I took a job as an English teacher for an Academy of Hotels and Tourism. As it was getting hard to do the works simultaneously I decided to choose one of the two jobs. I chose to teach. I applied for a job as a lecturer in Faculty of Letters, English Department in the same city. That was longest job that I ever had. After some years I took a post graduate studies in a teachers educational institution. I finish my studies and my thesis was about the themes of the Second World War poetry written by the war poets pioneers, Sigfried Sassoon, Wilfred Owen, and Rupert Brooke. Somehow I couldn't continue to attend my thesis examination due to a sudden accident that happened to my husband, who did not recover for two years. I wasn't disappointed for not having the MA title. Having finished my thesis is an accomplishment for me and the love for the subject matter and the object of research, the war poems and the awesome poets were my only passion that inspired me to discuss them in my thesis.About my other personal life all I can tell is that I was married with a painter by whom I was influenced in other fields. He made paintings and crafts . I watched him work and loved his works, and love haha the money he got from his works. Eventually I was attracted too by art making, but it wasn't easy for me. He belonged to an artists community with existing restrictions for their art. The art works produced should show the academic ability of the artists who were mostly graduates of prestigious schools of fineart in the country. I failed to pass the auditon to be a member there. In this situation I tried to find an outlet to express my own ideas. To fulfil my aspiration, shily with embarassed feeling I sign up in Pinterest app. Here I combined poetic words with pictures, the pictures that my late husband made. I continue with writing in a few forms, poetry, personal journals, daily notes for my diary, captions for my posts in social media, comments, and still hide my reviews of stories that I have read.
