probably not this one, but in Mexico, all kind of cactus are pretty common, like huge magueyes or huge nopaleras, in the desert or even the cities or hills (I just saw a comment that it is still existing, yay!)

Thanks so much for sharing this with us. It's really remarkable that cactus is still standing. As a person born and raised in the US, I sadly have to say that if the cactus were in the US, it likely wouldn't exist any longer or would be horrifically maimed. I say this thinking of all the trees that were destroyed and maimed some time ago in California, in Joshua Tree State Park. One Joshua tree in California is thought to be over 1,000 years old. A more common lifespan is about 150 years. The trees are under protected status.
