"Now That's Gonna Be Stuck In My Head": 45 Worthless Bits Of Trivia Or Knowledge Shared By Our Community
Trolled By A 5-Year-Old And Her "Brown Es"
Here's one my 5 year old daughter pulled on me: For a few days leading up to the 1st, she was talking about how her and mommy were going to bake me brownies. Totally hyped it up. I should have seen it coming, but on April Fool's Day, she brings me a plate with a bunch of brown construction paper cut out letter E's. She made me brown E's.The Fake Desktop
Take screenshot of desktop. Remove all icons on desktop. Close all applications. Set taskbar to "auto-hide". Set screenshot as wallpaper. Result: computer looks just as they left it, but when they try to do anything, it doesn't work. The Keyboard That Sprouts Life
Here's what I've got planned: Got the IT guy to give me a broken keyboard. I'm going to take a bunch of chia seeds, plaster them underneath the keys, spend a few days watering it, and then switch it for my coworker's keyboard that morning.Sittin' On Some Hidden Toilet Macaroni
Put dry macaroni under the toilet seat, so it'll sound like the toilet breaks when someone sits on it.Get Caged, Scrub!
If they use Google Chrome, install the extension "nCage It". It changes EVERY image (including google logo, thumbnails, etc.) into randomly generated pics/gifs of Nicholas Cage. The best part? There is an option to hide the extension from the task bar. They would actually have to go into their internet options and find it under the "extensions" tab just to turn it off. It's great.Hey Pandas, How Can I Help?
Oh I would get a lawyer straight away. Make the their/abuser and the company liable for what happened. The older family member should not be embarrassed at all. I would either home the person myself either until they can find a place to live, or indefinitely. You should also contact their local elderly housing and explain what happened. She can get elderly housing based on her income (social security) and family can help with furnishings. I hope they are not in a shelter where they can further abused. Please be the help and safety they need in the interim.Hey Pandas, How Can I Help?
There's a lot of recourses out there I'm gonna put some links specifically for CO below. https://cdhs.colorado.gov/aps https://disabilitylawco.org/resource/mandatory-reporting-elder-abuse https://www.ccerap.org/ https://humanservices.elpasoco.com/adult-protective-services/ this is just for El Paso County. https://www.arapahoegov.com/390/Adult-Protection - this is just for Arapaho County - but most of the counties have something to this effect. You can reach out to one outside of your county they should have a list available for your county or at least know who to contact. https://cdhs.colorado.gov/our-services/older-adult-services https://www.senioranswers.org/financial-resources/ https://www.hud.gov/states/colorado/homeownership/seniors https://www.needhelppayingbills.com/html/colorado_agency_on_aging.html There's a lot out there. I hope this helps.Hey Pandas, How Can I Help?
Call the national elderly abuse line. They have to help her. I would give you the number but I don't know where you live.Show All 36 Upvotes
