I didn't realise how bad it was until I was in year 7. I had been saying it for a year or two in that context. Then suddenly I asked myself 'does that mean being gay is a bad/lame thing?' and stopped saying it.

The scary thing is that there will be people born male and female who don't fit the gender norm in that they look female or male that will also end up caught in the backlash. I don't care who people identify as, I care how they treat others.

That isn't respect. That is fear. There's a difference. The number one way to get respectful kids? Model respectfulness by respecting them. But adults don't do that. They treat kids as if they're less than and then they hit them.

Where in my statement did I say it made sense? I just said I get it from one incdident that happened! I also never said it was right for them to say all trans people are the same because one trans person did xyz!

I get it why people feel the way they do after a tran gender woman was put in a womans prison but when they where a man they'd sexual assaulted women! That's putting women and trans women at risk. But if we are going to play a game of men are men and women are women. We need to give Trans people safe spaces as well. We can't just say right trans people don't matter because one happened to be a horrible person. It's so madneing that once one person does something bad all people in the same community get labelled the same way
