I noticed the same thing. At least 2 of the top 5 Featured, Trending, and Latest are all re-posts. And they were re-posts from other sites to begin with. I know I come here a lot less frequently lately. I also tried some interesting submissions of my own, but nothing caught on. I hope they get it in gear again, this used to be such an enjoyable site/community.

It is a fast food restaurant that is famous for extremely greasy, small square burgers that wreak havoc on your digestive system. Very tasty, but you pay the price later so make sure you have access to a good bathroom for 12 hours or so from about 20 minutes after you have finished.

Not sure when that lovely event happened from post, but not that long ago over-the-counter Robitussin in the States had codeine in it, including fairly high amounts for extra-strength bottles. You could get pretty f'ed up from Robitussin back then.

It’s a regional word. I’m English and have never heard it. Somebody said it’s used in Yorkshire, Lancashire and Wales, but it’s not ‘standard English’ that you see on British TV. There’s loads of words only used in specific cities, counties or countries.

The parents share some of the blame here. I was 11 when my mom got married, and I went from being an only child to the oldest of four within 18 months. My stepsister and I were forced to share a room for years and it was HARD. At that age, it's difficult to see past your own wants and needs. The parents should have at least provided separate rooms for the girls, and allowed the biological daughter to spend time with friends on her own. That being said, though, they should also be trying to teach the 15-yo about compassion and empathy, and not letting her lash out at her sister. No matter how upset I got with my stepsiblings, I knew what kind of behavior my mom expected from me, and I did not act out that way.

Most guys can and do learn to deal with menstrual issues. Eventually. With a very strong emphasis on "eventually" as we are certainly the weaker sex in such matters. But have faith, most guys really can handle it and be supportive. I grew up with 3 sisters and thought one of them had bled to death when I saw what was in the trash one morning. I sprinted and took the evidence to my mother as I was genuinely concerned one of my sisters needed immediate medical attention. I got a frank, no holds barred talk about menstruation and what women had to go through each and every month from my mother that morning. She did not sugar coat any of the terms or images. And while my childhood certainly ended that cold winter morning, I did learn to be compassionate and kind to my sisters when it was time for their menstrual cycle. I was 9 and not brave so my initially reaction was less than heroic. But it was never a taboo topic in our house and I always admired my mother for that.

I really am sorry about my original reply and I hope you can forgive me. I (and several other posters apparently) honestly thought your classmates were doing a wellness check out of concern for your well being. I feel awful finding out it was just more abuse. I am really sorry that happened to you. I hope you are doing better after your setback. And I mean what I said about school. While you may never be able to completely forget such traumatic experiences because you had it much worse than most kids, but it really is a very short and insignificant part of your life. Before you know it school will be over and you will never have to deal with those bully jerks and the adults who failed to protect you ever again. They will always be weak, bitter, and miserable people. I sincerly hope you will find the strength to overcome your experiences and find the joy, love, and kindness you deserve. Stay strong and remember there is always help out there if you need it. Sorry, TL;DR.

If you take care of a vinyl LP you will not have any of those problems. Keep the LP clean, store it properly in a good sleeve, and use a high quality, maintained needle and your LP's will sound like new no matter how many times you play them. I will play my Wall LP against your Wall CD and there will be no comparison to the sound quality. But I am fanatical about maintaining LPs. Skips are not good, but anyone who appreciates the superiority of an analog recording certainly doesn't mind the "fizzes, hisses, and pops" as you put it. Most would say it adds character, but even if you do not believe that line of reasoning, the superiority of analog LP recordings is a fair trade for a few snaps, crackles, and pops.
