The illustrations serve as a fun yet profound exploration of various topics, from traditional expectations to contemporary dialogues around feminism, body image, abortion, mental health, social stereotypes, relationships, etc.
Overall, each girl can relate to Lainey Molnar's comics, as the artist aims to inspire and empower women. Would you like to know more about the artist and look at some feminine-inspired illustrations? You are at the right place, so we better start, shall we?
Who Is Lainey Molnar?
According to the web search results, Lainey Molnar's real name is Lainey D. Molnár. She is a Hungarian living in Amsterdam, Netherlands. As social media doesn't reflect reality nowadays, Lainey successfully spreads social messages through her Instagram. Lainey began posting her art on Instagram in October 2019.
Eventually, she stepped away from social media due to persistent online harassment. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she began sharing the signature drawings she became known for. Some were portraits of people like Meghan Markle, Lady Gaga, and Emma Watson. Best known for her comics, Lainey is also a motivational speaker, owning her online course Soul Sister Academy.
Furthermore, a Lainey Molnar meme was created, the Laineyball. It’s an exploitable meme character based on Lainey Molnar. 4chan, the popular image board community, was the platform where it went viral. Laineyball and 4chan users intend to annoy the author by making it more popular than the original comic.

I have a PhD, work full time at a university as as scholar and project manager and also work in a café/bar on weekends (just because I enjoy the company and change of scenery; scholars can be really dull). It*s really amusing how SOME people treat me differently, depending on the context. Helps determine who is cool and who is not. Moral? Always treat others with respect
What’s The Creative Process Behind Lainey Molnar Comics?
The artist told Bored Panda she has a miles-long list of illustration ideas on her phone: “I sometimes literally wake up in the middle of the night to write down new ones, and I grab my phone to make notes at any point when I see something inspiring.”
When she sits down and draws that idea from the list, she finds it resonates with the moment. As Lainey sometimes loves to binge-watch TV shows while drawing, she says: “Still, usually, I like to create an ambiance, like candles, incense, and good music, because I believe the vibes and emotions also go into every artwork.”
Is Lainey Molnar Art Personal?
When asked whether she has any personal favorites from her illustrations, Lainey said it’s the one where she compares “someone with physical health struggles” and “someone with mental health struggles.”
The artist shared that this is because it’s a very personal one. Lainey admits she struggled with her mental health for over 18 years. So, she is the one who knows how complicated it can be living with this invisible illness.
Even though Lainey usually explores female empowerment topics straightforwardly or funnily, the artist also adds, “Still, at the end of the day, we are all simply human beings. I find it crucial to address stigmatized topics because it gives so many of us relief to know that we aren't alone.”
Because looking pretty for that one random guy in the street is every woman ever's purpose, of course /s
The very definition of natural is 'existing in or derived from nature'. Your body is natural until you have an unnatural change. Pregnancy is one of the most natural things there is!
I needed this. I’m short and flat and small for my age. When someone says they’re jealous I always think they are joking.
agreed, i'm average and short, can't find any nice clothes to fit my B cups and big af ass.
And both require a lot of hard work, practicing, and other words that I'm not smart enough to know. (I used to be a ballet dancer and Im assuming about the other one...)
What Motivates Modern Women Like Lainey?
Motivation and creative block are some of the most crucial topics for all modern women, especially artists. Lainey hasn’t had to experience creative block very often. The illustrator claims she simply has too much to say: “In an ideal world, a lot of what I’m communicating would be obvious, but as we’re not there yet, I don't mind processing the same pain points over and over again via a visual medium.”
Lainey is thrilled about the feedback she gets, as she says it’s “overwhelmingly positive.” Of course, that would drive any artist’s self-esteem, right? So, Lainey’s case is also not an exception, as she finds feedback as an endless source of motivation.
It is 100% true, but, unfortunately, many people will tell them their sadness is illegitimate because "it was not really a baby, stop whining".
I lost my baby boy due to sids at 15 days. My best friend had a miscarriage a month before at 16 weeks. We still grieve the same. I miss my boy and she misses her girl. Both of us are moms to our dead children. No matter what. So thank you for standing up for those who never got to hold their child in their arms.
Load More Replies...Completely. I am still a mother of 7 even if I only get to raise 1.
I'm so sorry! That must have been devastating but I'm glad you have your baby
Load More Replies...Breasts can start aching and swelling even before you find out you're pregnant, and milk will start developing not long after that. Your body already knows you're a mother and nobody's opinion can take that away.
true my mom lost her first child would have been my older brother.
If my mom hadn’t lost one I wouldn’t exist. She lost one 2 months before She was pregnant with me
Load More Replies...Completely true. I am still a mother of 7 even if I only get to raise 1.
People don't believe this. My daughter died from SIDS @ 2 months old and because she died, my OB didn't feel like I needed my body checked out after giving birth. I was shocked. Her death did not change the fact that 8 weeks before, my body gave birth to her. They also didn't feel like I needed any help at all with the PAIN from my breasts being engorged with milk since I breastfed her. It was like none of it happened. Erased. I had a 2 year old too but they still treated me like I wasn't a mother. It was unreal.
Exactly. 💔 Or, had her baby die AFTER it was born. 💔 Or, gave her baby up for adoption, because it was the best thing for the baby. ❤️
Also, way to go you for being both a guy and extremely supportive! I really appreciate this on behalf of the friends I have who have gone through this sort of painful situation. I have met several guys and have seen multiple men at my previous church who were not at all supportive of my friend who lost her baby and hasn’t had success in having another one, so it’s nice to see a guy who actually supports ladies who’ve lost their babies!
Load More Replies...This is so true for both parents. As a father whose wife had a few I can relate...it's very hard.
Ouch. I'm going to say this here, because it should be something everyone knows. Miscarriages are extremely common. My doctor told me it's 1 in every 5 pregnancies miscarry. And it's one of the most lonely traumas to go through, especially if you've been trying for a long time. Mine happened after 2 years of trying, and I had to go through medical procedures to get everything out afterwards. Fortunately, I was able to get pregnant again soon afterwards, and am soon to celebrate my son's 11th birthday. I wouldn't change a thing, because it would mean I wouldn't have my son. But I still have an ache for that life that didn't make it. This needs to be destigmatized and publicized: if you miscarried, you are NOT alone. There are others out there who have gone through the same thing, and many of them will help you.
Yes. I can't imagine anyone thinking this even. I've been through it. It's not easy.
I know. People keep telling me I'm a bad mother because I lost my baby at the walmart. Those laces are huge!
Or less of a woman because she can't reproduce. So tired of people treating me like a failure.
makes her more of a mother, she s had to deal with the stress without the amazing reward that brings life
Nor is "something wrong with her". Miscarriages happen for many reasons, including their partner's unknown STDs, drug habits, intentional unemployment, putting more stress on the mother.
This hurts my heart and soul...I was having a good day. I was scrolling and laughing and loving this thread. Until now. My twins would have been 9 in January. I was not prepared for this 🥺😟😳😭😭
But it sure does feel like it. Even if it's 29 years, they are still our baby girls. 😞
This is so important for people to understand. At any stage of pregnancy, or after birth.
This brought some actual tears to my eyes. I have an aunt who was pregnant with triplets once, and none of them made it.
In fact, the one who lost the child might be a lil more of a mother! I mean, how hard is that?
It's very hard. I'm 36. I got my tubes tied and my husband had a veixetomy so we never chance losing a newborn again
Load More Replies...To my ladies that lost children, I am so sorry you had to go through this.
I’m coming up this month on a year after my miscarriage. Not a great feeling and I’ve been a little more emotional lately
Because someone who loses a wanted pregnancy regards her embryo/fetus as her baby. It's not a baby; it's not a person. Personhood is merely a legal designation conferred at the time of live birth. Live birth ain't happening when the vast majority of people have elective abortions. But you'd have to be irredeemably obtuse to not recognize the legitimacy of the pain experienced by anyone who loses a wanted pregnancy that they fully expected to carry to term. It's not that a miscarried embryo is a baby and an aborted embryo is not. It's the value attached by the pregnant person (and anyone they choose to involve in the pregnancy).
Load More Replies...oh, good human beings, but i suppose you wouldn’t know
Load More Replies...I can confirm. After having spent 35 years of insecurity over different aspects of my body, now that I am pregnant and my body is growing another human being, I'm astonished and very very satisfied with my body even though it has changed enormously.
What Influences Lainey’s Art?
Artists like Adam Ellis, Tiny Moron, and Wowocomics inspire Lainey. She says: “They all have very different styles and a very different sense of humor, but I think it always comes down to personality that shines through the art, so there is space for all unique creators to show how they perceive the world.”
Looking at these artists from Lainey’s perspective, she values vision and purpose over technical skills such as anatomy or shading.
What's Up With Lainey Molnar?
One of Lainey’s most significant projects was releasing a book Mating in Captivity: Reconciling the Erotic and the Domestic. As she has worked in publishing and was a blogger for more than a decade, the artist claims herself as a “huge bookworm.” Hence, captions in Laine’s art play an equal role as the illustrations themselves.
Daily, she shares her art with her one million followers on her Instagram. Lainey keeps her comics consistent, exploring the same social topics and keeping an authentic style, as she claims: “I really hope that I can create something magical that will help women be happier and more liberated from societal expectations.”
I really love this - it makes me feel more comfortable with my body and my lifestyle
Half of me loves the inclusive body positivity. The other half notices this is a much more positive yuppie-dom than I grew up with, but nobody is broke, rural, or old.
....How can you tell nobody is broke or rural? Is it because of what they're wearing? You can find cheap and stylish clothes and people who live in rural areas can wear nice clothes....
Load More Replies...They left out one...... Emotional/psychological abuse vs. Physical Abuse....... Both bad. Can't see the scars on one.
In doing my little part to adress societies double standards, I did NOT raise my sons to see femails as trophies or conquest. I know this will sound old fashioned, but I have encouraged them to wait for marriage. I know that isn't going to happen, but it's a good baseline. As for my daughter. At 9 years old she is one belt away from her Black Belt in TKD, and I have been teaching her hand to hand and take down for self defense. I also take time to explain the physical advantages women have in situations. She also does jazz and tap dance. In short I won't have to be one of those dads who threatens her dates. We are raising a strong and confident young woman.
Have you considered treating your children the same regardless of gender?

Also, petite & slim people have body image and societal pressure issues too. Ya know how many times in my life people have gone out of their way to say things like, 'Eat a burger or something.' It's important to note that screens, especially before bed, a bad sleep routine, a lack of physical movement & sunshine, and a bad diet contribute significantly to poor mental and physical health.
I, also, noticed the lack of hair. I'm a little hairy. Some of my girl friends have pointed this out over the years. I was always self-conscious about it. "Your arms are so hairy! Why don't you shave them?" ... "Because I dont want to! Back off, b*tch!"
Load More Replies...Pft anyone who disagreeed that these are "so awesome" and doesn't share the "You go, girl!" attitude got voted down to oblivion.
To be fair, there were several, outright unkind comments, bordering on cruel. It's not hurting anyone to have a post about positivity and inclusivity.
Load More Replies...i love this post because it really targeted the issues that we are facing we need to except we were all made human and nothing we do makes us less human we all need to join together and say that we are all human and we all should be treated the same no matter who we are and how we act
WHO we are shouldn't have an affect on how we are treated BUT how we ACT will always have an affect on how we are treated. If someone acts like an A-Hole, that is how they're going to be treated.

The illustrations are amazing and they are real life facts about society. I would love to have these in a book and show my girls when they get older
I’m looking at the comments. Some people don’t agree with them… some men wrote rude and hurtful things… “the number of how many jobs-oh wait women don’t have jobs” -Britney Raye Dunn. “But why is she so fat”- tee Witt “the fat one needs to cover up”- Robin Wodge, etc etc. first of all, these comics are written with a woman’s perspective, so obviously if will be written by a woman’s thoughts. That doesn’t mean men aren’t important and have their own issues. Secondly, stop fat shaming and beauty shaming people. That’s just twisted. Third of all, women are just a s capable as man. So stop with all these comments.
"Oh my gosh why are you so fa-" NOBODY CARREEESSSSS, NOBODYYY CARRRESSS
What a lot of people don't understand is many of these same issues affect straight men as well. Body image, marriage, kids, etc... We all feel the same pain.
I love everything about this. The positivity, the self-love, the art style, and the outfits. Like hello, where can I get them?
This is definitely one of the least patronizing/over simplifying “woman draws it as it is” posts.
Im gonna bookmark this, and come back whenever I don't have any confidence on myself
I loved them so much. They are inclusive with such an important message to spread. I would love to see more from this artist.
For all those posts criticizing her for not including this, that, or the other: How about you make your own...why was it her responsibility to address any and everything? I think this was a totally awesome beginning...
I love how positive and supportive these comics are! As someone who is working on self-confidence and loving myself, seeing stuff like this helps
Thanks for the one including the Angel Mom. We need to normalize not waiting until someone becomes one to tell them if our loss

Abuse occurs from all angles. It's not just male on female, as women so wrongly proclaim (which is just a way to deflect from their own disgusting behaviors and attitudes). Abuse from a female is absolutely real, and happens a lot more than people think. I'd say they're actually more mentally abusive than males are overall. These kinds of cartoons ignore facts like that while at the same time try to claim they're about some kind of "equality" thing. Nope. It's about being the same way you claim men are, the actions of which you claim to hate. It's called hypocrisy and double standards.
Notice how you won’t find anything like this about men on the internet to make US feel better. Now I understand that there are many differences but how often men get mental help? We suck it in no matter what. And when we do speak out? No. One. Cares.
