Today we’d like to introduce you to a new comic artist on our website. We’d like for you to meet “Mostly ADHD,” a webcomic artist who wanted to show others what life was like for them as someone who was diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). They never thought their sketches would lead to a series of webcomics that have amassed an amazing number of over 19k Instagram followers with just 24 posts in total!
In their sincere comics, the artist translates the reality of those who live with the disorder. In addition to helping other people to realize that they're not alone in this, the said comics are also a great way for the artist to portray what they are feeling day by day.

Bored Panda reached out to the artist to find out a little bit more about them and their comics.
"I was struggling a lot in university and after seeing a psychologist, I realized at age 26 I had ADHD and it all suddenly made sense. After graduating, I was dealing with burnout, depression, and anxiety and kind of fell into a dark hole. I suddenly had a lot of free time and I was home a lot, so I started drawing funny comics as a way to cope with my situation and to hopefully make others in similar situations feel less alone.
So in a weird way I'm thankful for being in this situation, because that's where my inspiration for my comics came from. I don't think I would have ever become a comic artist otherwise."
We also asked if perhaps creating comics regarding ADHD might've helped the artist to overcome some of the things in life.
"It helps to know a lot of people feel the same way as I do. It makes me feel less alone and more accepting of myself. But it doesn't solve my problem, I'm still having to battle the negative effects of ADHD every day."
We were also curious to know about how people reacted to the artist's works.
"Most of the response was overwhelmingly positive! I got to almost 20k followers in less than 2 months, which is insane and I never expected that. It shows how many people can relate to my comics and how big the need is to talk about mental health topics. I did receive some nasty comments from trolls who don't believe in ADHD (so don't be surprised if you get some of those on your comment sections). But to me, that just proves how big the taboo around this topic (and mental health in general) still is. It won't stop me from continuing, it actually fuels me to make more comics to further destigmatize talking about mental health."
People also seem to be very supportive of the artist's work, as they told us, "My inbox is overflowing with messages from people saying they love my comics and how they've helped them feel less alone or come to terms with their diagnosis. But also from partners of people with ADHD that these comics help understand them more. It really warms my heart and makes me happy knowing I'm doing something good for people, this is exactly why I'm doing this!"
Lastly, we asked the author of the said comics to tell us a little bit more about themselves.
"I'm a 28-year-old Dutch woman, I have a degree in sociology but I have no ambitions in this field. My dream is to continue making comics and own a small business selling merch with my own designs. But this only has become my dream since starting this account. Before this I had no idea what I wanted in life, like I said I was in a dark hole and felt stuck. But now I finally have a strong sense of purpose to continue in the creative field and make illustrations about mental health."
I think a lot of people are just getting diagnosed. But some of this is just being an introvert also. Plus just, the world is overwhelming. Bed is just safer.
I don't have ADHD, but the majority of these things were very relatable
Can relate to pretty much everything. I'm in my mid thirties, and I'm about to start an evaluation for adhd/autism. Fingers crossed I can finally be properly diagnosed!
Crossing my fingers for you! Good luck!
Load More Replies...I'm quite sure I have ADHD but being a girl and being book smart (not trying to brag, I just easily excel in school, it's the way my brain works), I don't think I'll ever even mention it to my parents, I doubt they'd believe me. We have family friends with ADHD but they're all boys and so if I told my parents they might compare me to them and not believe me :/
Girls with attention deficit problems tend to be more introverted (where boys tend to be hyperactive), so we are overlooked.
Load More Replies...a lot of these are relatable even if you don't have ADHD! but if you think you might, you should get a professional diagnosis
Load More Replies...Genius, authentic, instant approach, wish I could have seen that when I was living in a hell cage, completely unaware , 20 years old and in panic. Congrats!
I do not have ADHD so I couldn't relate. But my granddaughter and grandson both have ADHD. I thought I would read the comics and try to understand how they perceive their lives. I would have to read much more to understand how it all feels.
I am very introverted. I never felt like I could possibly have ADHD, until I read these comics. I can relate to the majority of them, and that's very scary right now. I just turned 61 and now I'm realizing that my whole life is a lie because I thought it was just normal.
Hi thank you for these comics im really feel better im not alone 🫂🫂🌟
You are amazing, I felt like you had been spying on me my whole life. I never comment on anything, but i really wanted to express how much I lived them. I want to print them and carry them around in my pocket to help people understand me. Great job!
Mostly ADHD. You are a hero. Every comic is so true for me. There should be a parallel universe for us ADHD brain people. The problem is we would never get anything done watching cat (or dog in my case) videos all day! You are truly gifted as a comic artist. Don't let anyone take that away from you.
I thought I had a hobby to find a hobby, if that makes sense 😅
This hit me hard for some reason. My guess is that I try to hide everything wrong about me
Everything makes much more sense now...! Just got the ADHD label yesterday, didn't really understand it. Now I do.
Quite helping.., seems not alone ☺ how to fight the dark shadow? It's Lethal, killing...
Ok, I can absolutely identify with all of these comics. But I don't think I got ADHD. I'm an anxious introvert with episodes of depression. I struggle also with insomnia which is the cause of lack of attention. So it's pretty easy to relate to all of those situations/feelings. The artist also mentioned them suffering from anxiety because of ADHD. So I think most of those are more about anxiety then exclusively ADHD. Talking about the artist, BoredPanda never mentioned her name. Why is that?
I think everyone with ADHD is incredible, you can achieve your dreams no matter what! Rock on,your all amazing!
Yay! Thank you! It's nice you're so supportive, a lot of people need to hear this.
Load More Replies...and have started 10 project at same time but not completed them
