Comic Artist Imagines What Classic Movies Would Be Like If Everyone Had Smartphones (Spoilers)
These days, smartphones are an unavoidable part of life.
You probably already know someone that’s always glued to their phone. It might even be you – checking directions, ordering stuff from Amazon, reading reviews on TripAdvisor, and generally ignoring everyone around you for the allure of a smartphone screen.
Most movies that were made before the widespread popularity of technology rely on this lack of connectivity to advance the plot. After all, if the protagonists could simply whip out a phone and call the police, look for directions, or perform a quick online search, they wouldn’t end up in half as many sticky situations. But what if these classic characters did have access to phones?
A happy ending could have been just a couple of clicks away in many iconic films, a concept that internet provider Plusnet and an unnamed comic book artist explored to create a series of hilarious comics strips.
