Clint Eastwood’s son has given a heartfelt update on how his father is doing following the death of his longtime girlfriend, Christina Sandera.
The 94-year-old had been dating Christina, 61, for ten years before she died of a heart attack on July 18, as confirmed by the Monterey County Health Department.
But it seems the Hollywood star is managing as well as he can.

“He’s good. He’s doing good,” revealed his son Scott to People. “He’s a survivor, a trouper.”
He went on to describe the resilience of his dad and the lessons he’s learned, saying, “It’s in our blood. You don’t complain. You don’t whine. You just do.”
The 38-year-old recalled that his father was someone who “was born coming out of the Great Depression, and then he was young during World War II. He saw a lot of struggle.”
In the Eastwood household, “there is no room for complaining.”

The film director had been with Christina since 2014, and they first met while she was working as a hostess at Clint’s Mission Ranch Hotel and Restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea, as reported by the Daily Mail.
The outlet also revealed her death certificate states that she was killed by cardiac arrhythmia, a phenomenon where the heart’s rhythm is too slow, rapid, or irregular.
Atherosclerotic coronary artery disease — occurring when fat, cholesterol, calcium, and other substances build up in the artery walls and restrict blood flow — was another condition that led to her unfortunate passing.

“Christina was a lovely, caring woman,” said Clint to The Hollywood Reporter. “I will miss her very much.”
Following this statement, it was clear he wanted to grieve without media attention when a Warner Bros spokesperson told the paper they would not be accepting further comments.

It’s true to his beliefs — after all, his family’s privacy has always been a priority for Clint.
“There are other people that are involved there, and they’re vulnerable people,” the Academy Award winner told CBS back in 2004.
“I can protect myself, but they can’t.”

And while Clint and Christina always led a life relatively shielded from the spotlight, she was always the plus-one with the Hollywood star whenever he had any red carpet events — and there were many of those.
As it turns out, the Cry Macho star managed to influence his son, as well, when Scott first became a household name 10 years ago while playing the titular character Luke Collins in the romantic drama The Longest Ride.
“He’s the reason I’m in this industry. It’s like anybody. If your dad’s a carpenter, maybe you’d become a carpenter,” he stated, especially since he spent much of his childhood being “dragged around to movie sets.”

As his career launched, Scott made various little cameos in his father’s films such as Gran Torino and Flags of Our Fathers. And while he hasn’t revealed whether he has future plans of working with his dad, he has nothing but praise for his old man.
“Anytime I’ve ever gotten a chance to work with my father, it’s been a great experience,” he said.
