Just last year, Greta Thunberg drew the world's eye to her protests that were aiming to raise awareness of the risks posed by climate change as well as holding politicians accountable for their inactivity during the climate crisis. This year, the entire world is taking to the streets to express the same sentiments. Global Climate Strike is an international event encouraging everyone to take part in changing the world for the better by raising awareness on how urgent these climate issues are and drawing the attention of those who choose to remain passive.
On September 20, thousands of people all across the world participated in multiple global strikes. The strikes happened just before countries gather at the Climate Action Summit on September 23, where they plan to discuss how to minimize greenhouse gas emissions under the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement.
Many people used various means to express their thoughts and draw attention. Some simply used the fact that the strikes were happening, trying to gather as many people as possible. Others... well, they used their creative and artistic talents to show what's on their mind. So scroll down below and check out the best ones.

"This Monday world leaders are going to be gathered here in New York City for the United Nations Climate Action Summit," Thunberg spoke in one of the strikes in NYC. "The eyes of the world will be on them," she continued, "they have a chance to prove that they too are united behind the science. They have a chance to take leadership, to prove they actually hear us. Do you think they here us?" the 16-year-old activist addressed the crowd. People followed her words with cheer as Thumberg declared "We will make them hear us".
Yeah, they couldn't chair less. But worry not, someday the tables will turn.
For those still questioning whether they should do something about the climate crisis or not, the global initiative has this message:
"Our house is on fire. The climate crisis is an emergency but we’re not acting like it. People everywhere are at risk if we let oil, coal and gas companies continue to pour more fuel on the fire. Our hotter planet is already hurting millions of people."
The people behind the Global Climate Strike are calling all people to contribute in any way they can. After all, we all share the same world and it's the only one we have.
"If we don’t act now to transition fairly and swiftly away from fossil fuels to 100% renewable energy access for all, the injustice of the climate crisis will only get worse. We need to act right now to stop burning fossil fuels and ensure a rapid energy revolution with equity, reparations and climate justice at its heart. But it’s going to take all of us working together to succeed," the initiative's message states on their website.
I would love to see some "God Hates F**s"signs recycled and turn to positive ones like this.
On her left side..."I'm sure the dinosaurs thought they had time too."
A friend of mine has a sign which says "Everything's wrong" at home so, when she notices that there's an interesting strike, she can quickly go out with it.
I saw a sign that read: "The situation is serious. My boss sent me to protest." lol
I don’t know if their boss actually sent them to do it but if they did I freaking love their boss
Load More Replies...I'm very confused... why are all of the photos highly voted, but all of the reasonable comments have been downvoted??
Because this is Bored Panda, a place where reason died long time ago.
