A fat cat named Cinderblock recently went viral for her lack of enthusiasm for working out. On October 19, Northshore Veterinary Hospital in Bellingham, Washington shared a video of an extremely cute but morbidly overweight cat using one paw to move on a treadmill, which is a part of her weight loss regimen. The video instantly became insanely popular, with over 10 million views and almost 500k people liking it on Twitter.

As Cinderblock is struggling with her weight, the chonky feline was taken to a vet and placed on a weight reduction program. The program includes a healthy cat diet, all sorts of exercises, and underwater treadmill, but this kitty used the least amount of effort to exercise.

Since the first video of Cinderblock was posted, the gray cat has become an internet celebrity. Since then, the veterinary hospital has periodically updated people on Cinderblock’s progress. Thousands of people loved the hilarious first video in which the chubby cat is seen sitting on the edge of the treadmill and using just one paw to move it. “You working out?” a veterinarian can be heard asking in the background of the video.

Many were cheering her up – “In this house, we cheer on Cinderblock, you got this [baby], do that workout.” Another commented: “Cinderblock has inspired me to be my best self. We shall get into shape together, one minute, one moment, one day at a time.” Many people also found Cinderblock’s lack of enthusiasm relatable.

I have a fat cat, but apparently don't have the marketing experience necessary to turn her into an internet sensation. Some cats are just chunky no matter what you do. Mine has a brother from the same litter who eats and exercises exactly the same as his rotund sister, but is half the weight. Genetics; a blessing and a curse.

This cat is so fat even just walking a few steps make her so tired she has to lie down again. That's not genetics that's severe overfeeding!

So does mine! At first we were worried about the weight changes and took him to the vet several times, but it turns out he just does that every year (he's 8 now).

I feed my big girl at the top of a step stool, and her litter box is all the way in the basement. She makes up for this excruciating amount of exercise by sleeping the entire rest of the day.

This POOR CAT. They have been feeding it F*****G POTATO CHIPS its whole life in the form of KIBBLE. It is HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE food for your cat. You MUST MUST MUST MUST MUST feed a cat RAW MEAT ONLY---it is a CARNIVORE. It can't eat f*****g plants for f**k's sake. If you don't want to feed your cat raw meat, DON'T GET ONE. This is animal cruelty as much as it is child abuse to feed a kid exclusively ice cream. Disgusting. STOP FEEDING KIBBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our cat was a bit overweight a few years ago, we put her on a diet and she slimmed down in no time. This cat really needs to loose some of that weight. She’ll be a happier cat and won’t die before she should. #CinderblockYouCanDoIt

I can't be the only one that thinks that letting your pet become obese is a form of abuse? it's dooming the pet to a life of pain unnecessarily.

I agree, at this level its 100% abuse. Via CNN {Cinderblock's previous owner couldn't take care of her any longer and had brought the 8-year-old feline to Northshore Veterinary Hospital in Bellingham near the Canadian border to be euthanized, medical director and veterinarian Brita Kiffney told CNN. The previous owner was struggling with health issues and caring for her father, who suffers from dementia, Kiffney said. "I couldn't do it and asked her to relinquish her to me," Kiffney said about Cinderblock. "She agreed and was grateful, as she really didn't want to euthanize Cinder but was overwhelmed with the care of her father. So, she is morbidly obese, due to overfeeding by the father."}

"Does not like to exercise?!" WTF?! More like an owner who has done a terrible job raising this poor cat. Indeed some cats can be large but this level of obesity should be considered as pure animal abuse :-(
