Cigarette ash is the preferred medium for Japanese artist Shinrashinge, who creates ashtray-portraits of anime characters and celebrities from the toxic stuff. It takes the 22-year-old about 2 hours to make an image of a cartoon like Pikachu from Pokémon, and 2 days for human portraits like the one he did of Steve Jobs.

Smoking is extremely damaging to your health, and Shinrashinge has written that he plans to quit. “I’ve kind of had enough of cigarettes,” he said in an interview with GameOver. If your are a smoker who wants to quit, click here for help!

    I never had an eye for art, recently I have had a major change happen in my life and all of a sudden I am looking atmALLArt differently?

    The introduction was really annoying. Stop freaking telling people how to live their lives! If you want to smoke then you should be able to.

    If you put your cigarette in it this way you don't need the ashtray at all cause the ash will still fall on the table...
