Polish Photographer And Mother Captures Magical Moments Of Her Childrens’ Days

Iwona Podlasińska is an internationally acclaimed fine art photographer with extraordinary childhood imagery full of whimsically candid gentility and rich dream-like charm.

Growing up in Kielce, Poland, a picturesque city bordered by green rolling hills and gently sloping mountains, Iwona became consumed with her job, daydreaming of foreign countries and the want of a better life for her and her family. Although she was left feeling unsettled, discouraged and unfulfilled, it all began to change and her void was slowly filled when, two years ago, she discovered a new-found intrigue in capturing the innocence and magic of childhood. By following around her two sons and their two cousins, Iwona re-discovered the world of imagination and saw with new eyes the beauty and magic in everyday life.

Instead of considering this a prosaic hobby, she feels incredibly privileged and blessed to have the opportunity to take a little step into their big, wonderful world and see it through their eyes. When creating her imagery, she is reminded of her own childhood- how she reminisces in amazement of the beauty in the world and all of its fascinating things to discover. Although every detail in each one of her pieces is carefully thought out with meticulous attention to composition, light and emotion, the captures themselves are taken quite spontaneously as she follows the children around and watches their carefree innocence and inquisitive play. By creating such breathtakingly moving art, she hopes her imagery will remind viewers of their own childhood and inspire other parents to take meaningful photos of their children as well.

Take one look at the vision of Iwona’s remarkable work and it is clear that this bright young woman’s future is anything but unpromising.

Could you pls share ISO, f, Shutter, Lens AND how much editing was done info? You have talent, no doubt about it. I am thinking all these photos were edited heavily to create bokeh so that viewer's eye lead to kids immediately.

You have full info on my Flickr page. Just click the image you are interested in and below there will be full Exif. Wherever the lens is not mentioned it's manual Samyang 85mm 1.4. And the blur in the images is not post produced ( besides one that was taken with a 50 and had the edges blured). I edit in Lightroom and use Photoshop to remove distractions from the background usually.

While I understand why people find this kind of images appealing I find them a bit cliche and over post processed (do an image search for "Russian mother photographer" on google and you'll se what I mean - images shot against the sun, kids and ducks, super shallow DOF and lot of post processing). You have a lot if interesting material on your site but this isn't (there's even post here on BP with the same kind of content: "https://www.boredpanda.com/end-of-summer-2015/" and "https://www.boredpanda.com/former-graphic-designer-turned-portrait-artist-immerses-your-senses-in-a-magical-world/"). Nothing wrong but not "magical" any more.

Anders, I have looked at your flickr stream and you are clearly a good photographer, but your images did not make me go 'wow'.....Iwona's do, so what may be a cliche for you, is certainly not the case for many others, as for over processing, I like my steak over processed, others prefer theirs to moo, it's all a matter of taste and the fact that Kapuschinsky has written this piece about Iwona means that they and many others including me appreciate and like her photography and processing, pushes our buttons, inspires and delights because it contains that wonderful magic, that you unfortunately can no longer see.
