Dop (5, my son) and Roos (4) had know each other most part of their lives. They grew up about a block apart and were basically inseparable.

When I got the news that Roos was moving to another village at the end of the summer of 2014, I decided to spend each spare moment I had photographing their uncomplicated, unconditional friendship.

For them to have some nice images to remember their friendship by, for me to have a unique chance to re-experience the joys of being young in the process. The result is a black-and-white photo series showing the ups and downs in this preschooler’s friendship.
