Well, first of all, depending on the location, don't hire a PI without talking to a lawyer. In the US, that evidence is often not allowed because of consent issues. So you'd likely find out more than you wanted to know, be out the money you paid for the PI, and not really gain anything for the divorce. Secondly, the part that makes me doubt this actually happened- in order for this to actually happen, they have to have been having very quiet sex (otherwise everyone would know without going in) AND a large group of people carrying things would have had to be at least somewhat quiet. I know she was distracted, but still...
