Neanderthals are the closest extinct human relative. With their large middle part of the face, huge nose, and angular cheekbones, they seem like completely different creatures to us—cavemen. However, they were not so different from us as their brains were as large as ours and there’s even some evidence that they buried their dead, occasionally marking graves with offerings such as flowers. And that’s something that no other primate or human species has ever practiced beside us.
To prove that they are not so different from us, the online creative marketplace DesignCrowd decided to hold a fun contest. They invited designers all over the world to recreate celebrities as Neanderthals or simply cavemen. After three years and six wonderful contests, here are the best entries for “Celebrity Neanderthals”! Here you will find such famous actors like Willem Dafoe and Tommy Lee Jones, as well as singers like Shakira and rappers like Snoop Dogg, turned into cavemen!

I wonder if the artists had any qualms about showing black and hispanic celebs as cavemen. Not sure what I think about it. After all, there are plenty of white celebs in the group. It's just such a fraught time that the question must've come up.
Nick Nolte
Sean Connery
Russell Crowe
Those are very very stereotypical cavemen. Like they come directly from a 1920s history book.
Agreed. These are some of the worst photoshops I've ever seen. Nick Nolte just looks tan and the women were still wearing full make-up.
