I Test How Accurately This A.I. Turns Celebrities Into Kids (21 New Pics)
Photographs are very important to keep our memories of major moments and loved ones alive and close. They help us remember the great times we've had and what we have experienced. It's fun to see childhood pictures when you're all grown up. But not everyone has them. That got me thinking and I decided to test artificial intelligence apps to see how good they are at turning people into kids.
I took 21 well-known celebrities and tested it out on them since most of them already have childhood pictures on the internet. The results are quite close, some weirder than others. But A.I. is progressing quickly and soon we will be able to use it on all kinds of things.
Part one is here!

Rihanna
Ed Sheeran
Rowan Atkinson
I feel the eyebrows are too dark. They're similar to the "current" one, which isn't normal for kids to have. Kids usually have a lighter complexion in both hair and skintone, which darkens over time.
John Travolta
Mark Zuckerberg
Barack Obama
Susan Sarandon
Scarlett Johansson
Robert Downey Jr.
Will Smith
Celine Dion
Antonio Banderas
Reese Witherspoon
Sylvester Stallone
Justin Bieber
Mark Wahlberg
Rita Hayworth
Luíza Brunet
Lady Gaga
Paris Hilton
Jennifer Lopez
Now compare the 'results' to their actual childhood photos and see how inaccurate this AI actually is.
Why do all the black folks on here have lighter skin as kids? I know it is AI, but really? A lot of really round, young faces, too.
Why is it that regardless of the adults actual nose shape, all the kids have the same nose? I get that some of the celebs have had plastic surgery but the AI is pretty limited if it has exactly one nose shape, regardless of the input.
Chins aren't much better - the one they gave Reese Witherspoon is nothing like her real chin. They are all very samey.
Load More Replies...Someone uses an app to show that AI is still currently useless. Fixed the title for you
Makes me wonder how beneficial those age progression photos of missing children really are.
I think those are fairly accurate. They also account for their parents' appearance, how similar features age, etc.
Load More Replies...So he proved AI isn't at all accurate. It would have been more interesting to have added the pictures of them as children to compare.
So where is the comparison photo so we can see if this is accurate? Otherwise it's just someone saying 'this is how i IMAGINE these celebs would look when young with my basic photoshopping skills
After a while you can see the AI does mostly the same thing - smooth out their features, make a less developed nose, and give them mostly fat cheeks. But someone hasn't told the AI that ears line up with the middle of your eyebrows and the bottom of your nose. There's no way little Antonio Banderas has that nose with those ears.
Yea, 100% fail. none of the ones that I remember as kids look anything like the AI. it didn't take the make up off....
This would have been better if there had been THREE photos: as they are now, how the AI thinks they would have looked like as a child, and how they REALLY looked as a child. Otherwise, this is pointless.
Rubbish app. Just makes them all look fatter with less pronounced jaws, noses and ears.
It was maybe adequate at most in the beginning, then it all went downhill from there
Yeah, this means nothing to me. I don't have childhood pictures of these people memorized. I have no idea if this is any good. This is truly worthless without (the real childhood) pics.
The child versions of them all look very much alike, structure wise. All children have a unique face, moreso when they mature and develop family traits. Me and my sisters all looked pretty much the same when we were baby's, but as we grew up, we all looked very different from each other.
Interesting art work... but in every case where I was familiar with the celebrity as a youth, it's a huge strike out.
It seems to be using the same head shape for all the women, and the same head shape for all the men. Might not be noticeable if they were each on their own, but in a post like this you can really see it.
