The pattern of this cat's coat is actually caused by a disease, believe it or not. Despite that, it's a very beautiful and unique marking and the disease is completely harmless.

Trixie looks like my late cat, Alice She was a tabby-torty mix, with a quartered face like Trixie's. Alice lived to be almost 22, of which she spent 18 years with us She was a "free" adoption from our shelter as she was an "older" cat. (Older than 3!)

A colorpoint cat (and bunnies!) has dark markings on the areas of its body that lose the most heat. Having no hair there lowered the skin temperature enough to cause the hair to come back in a darker shade.
