123 Times Owners Wanted Cats And Dogs To Live Together, But It Didn’t Work Out As Planned
You’ve probably heard the phrase fighting like cats and dogs, right? While there’s certainly some truth in the stereotype of cats and dogs hating on each other (they do having naturally conflicting temperaments, dogs are more social and playful while cats prefer their independence), with a little bit of luck and some very careful introductions the two can and do live together in relative harmony. Because who says you have to choose between being a ‘cat person’ and a ‘dog person’ when you can have the best of both? Even so, when cats and canines do become roomies there’s always going to be some drama.

Linda Gulley You should really calm yourself, and reconsider your words. There has always been a fight between dog lovers and cat lovers and you are making it worse. There are people who love both dogs and cats and should not need to hear someone insulting anyone of these animals.

There are good ways to introduce cats and dogs to each other. We did it successfully with our Border Collie and two tabby cats. The cats ruled the roost, but there was never any nastiness.

It takes some time for cats and dogs to read each other, because their languages are so different. When a dog wants to play, it does exactly what an angry cat would do to chase away another cat, when the dogs tail is waggling the cat sees the signs of an angry cat, and if the cat goes forward to meet the dog nose to nose, most dogs feel, that the cat is not behaving properly, and that it should have gone round to sniff the backside of the dog.

When I had cats and dogs, the big male cat ruled the roost. If thing went his was all was good. If the dog were out of line The cat would sit up on his hind hunches a slap the living daylights out of who ever was in error! the rest of the time al was well! This went on for 15 years!

Man I got lucky with my dog and cat. We got our dog when I was like 5, I think she was a year old. Then my mom's cat got pregnant and we kept one and they were inseparable. No fights, no hate just love. I mean really good buddies, like brother and sister. I love my furbabies (I have 4 cats) but I miss the original gang. They've both been gone now over a decade.

Cute on one hand, on the other hand, wish the owners would take care in how they introduce and maybe take some steps to resolve or improve some of these situations. Kinda made me feel bad for the pets, not being able to feel calm and at ease in their own homes (not talking about the 'just playing' ones).

LOL this cat looks like my Gizzy from Gizzy, Thori and Sisi, da second hand kittehz, only that mine has more white fur on his legs, here´s no dog, but Gizzy´s a jerk too sometimes, especially when he sits down on his patchwork brofur Thori with his big fluffy butt!!! 😹😹😹 Especially when Thori´s "camping" below the blankie Gizzy does that LOL, even if I told him "Hey there´s Thori underneath", he won´t care... :P Unbenannt-...46-png.jpg

Keep cats INDOORS! They kill birds or could get run over outside. They are domesticated. They need to stay inside.
