I created this series of cats because I am fascinated by the variety of styles found in art history. I tried to recreate artistic ideals, style, as well as the technical approaches of each and every art period.

Oh, and I also happen to like cats! I hope you enjoy.

Aww, so cute. I want to join that cat in doing a catnap.

Gogh's style is perfect for expressing the animal's fur. Very cute.

Color me van Gogh. I'll take Post-Impressionist any day. Thumbs up!

Lovely picture, but this kind of thing is one of my pet peeves. I hate when people say it's 'inspired' by an artist, but instead of copying the artist's style or technique, they copy their content. You can make a Van Gogh inspired painting *and* be original.

Also, Egypt has a myth about the cat goddess ( Bastet) and the chaos serpent (Apophis) fighting for eternity, as commanded by Bastet's master Ra ( the sun god/ pharaoh of all Egyptian gods) after his being banished to the heavens by Isis ( goddess of magic and wisdom) Sending Bastet to fight Apophis in the Daut was his last command.
