It seems that no matter how our precious pets misbehave or destroy our things, it’s hard to stay mad at them. However, it becomes quite frustrating to see ruined furniture, smashed vases, or scratched belongings. When this happens, check out this Twitter account @CatsOfYore, which was created by a cat lover and owner named Molly. The woman recently shared a thread of beautiful and funny pictures proving that cats have always been mischievous little creatures. Quite hard to believe? Not once you see this 19th-century print from the British Museum depicting a kitten knocking down a bottle of ink on a piece of paper that was about to be turned into a letter.

Which one of these photos did you like the most? Perhaps there is a picture that reminds you of your own cat and its little misdeeds? Don’t forget to leave your thoughts in the comments down below!

If you’re already annoyed with your cat ruining your things, this Twitter user wanted us to know that there is proof that they’ve been doing this for ages

Bored Panda contacted Molly to find out more about her love for cats and art. The woman shared that her idea to start this thread came through her interest in searching and looking at art collections that feature cats. “They are such a cool glimpse of how our relationship with these weird little animals has changed in some ways but stayed the same in others. One of the themes I have noticed is that we have always continued to adore cats no matter how mischievous or disruptive they can be,” – explained Molly.

A lot of people online were fascinated by these carefully selected pictures making the thread viral. Was Molly surprised to see this happening? The cat owner revealed that “virality is such a hit-or-miss thing, there’s no formula or guarantee. I curate these things purely out of love and if they go viral the attention always catches me off guard, but the fact that cat lovers relate to it and want to share it and connect with other cat lovers isn’t surprising.” The woman also shared that as the owner of two cats, she also experiences days when her cats do something wicked, adding that her cat Francie “is often possessed with the ‘zoomies’ and runs at top speed around and around the apartment,” causing some unfortunate accidents.

The thread is full of old paintings that can be found in various museums’ collections

When we asked Molly what is one thing that she loves about cats the most, the woman shared that it’s hard to name only one. “Every morning when I open my eyes and see them for the first time of the day I’m so excited and grateful. I love everything about them,” concluded the Twitter user.

Even though these prints are from centuries ago, they depict very well-known situations that are seen to this day

Those who have a pet might have a different reaction to these behavioral outbursts. While at first, it might be not that big of a deal to find one or two things that were “marked” by your pet, along the way, it might become tiring and annoying getting back to a ruined home. Because of this, it becomes important to find the reason behind your pet’s constant scratching or biting.

One of the reasons why cats behave like this is because they live in a stressful environment. In this case, it’s crucial to check whether your cat gets along with other pets that you have, or perhaps there are some changes in the house that might cause them to act the way they do.

The woman even shared some pictures of her own cats in action. This encouraged other users to reveal some of the tricks their own pets have pulled

Cats might also misbehave if they have some serious health problems. According to Mondou, a company that focuses on providing services and products for animals, “85% of cats over age 3 have dental problems that can be painful and cause them to chew on or bite objects.” If you’re noticing some rare or weird behavior in your pet, it’s best to first take them to the veterinarian for a proper check-up.

However, if you’re noticing that your cat just loves to scratch or finds the need to chew on something, it could also indicate a lack of stimulation. We have to admit that when we’re experiencing boredom, we also are trying to find something that would keep us busy or entertained. The same goes for cats and other pets. What helps in this scenario are toys and some games. This also reminds us to not forget to spend some quality time with our beloved pets by playing with them or going for a walk.

I so love these. It's good to remember people (and pets) are just regular folk, no matter when they lived.
