This adorable ball of fluff is on his way to becoming a TikTok sensation. Rex—a cat believed to be living in Canada—has lost his front paws and most of his tail. The poor fella fell in a water dish when he was just a young cat living on a farm, and sadly, they froze. Ever since Rex has been learning how to adapt to everyday life using only his back legs.

His adventures are being documented on TikTok, where Rex’s owners show the daily adaptations Rex has to make in order to get around and live a normal feline life. With over 117k followers already on the platform, Rex is on his way to internet stardom.

Rex’s owners share bits and pieces of the fluffy feline’s life both on Instagram and TikTok. The now-viral videos include Rex standing like a human, staring into a door, or him trying to get down the stairs—which is not the easiest task for a cat with no front paws.

But it doesn’t stop him from living his best life

A lot of fans of Rex on TikTok have been pointing out that the cat would do so much better if the owners would get some rugs. However, they were quick to respond that there’s an actual reason they don’t buy rugs anymore—Rex is very fond of peeing on them.

Needless to say, people fell in love with Rex. “He’s so precious,” one TikTok user commented. “Not to be dramatic, but I’d die for Rex,” another woman added. More often than not, people have been asking Rex’s owners to send him hugs and kisses from people who can’t pet him in real life.

And apparently, standing like a human, too

The handsome boy has almost 3k fans on Instagram and over 117k fans on TikTok. His videos have been watched over 2.7m times, so we guess it’s safe to say that we’ll probably be seeing more of Rex on our social media feeds. Why don’t you go and give him a follow too?

“I’ve had him for 4-5 years,” Rex’s owner told Bored Panda. “[When I got him], he was maybe 6-8 months old. I adopted him because I wanted a cat, I was visiting my friend’s farm, and thought he was cute.”

“He lived on a farm and as a kitten, he got wet from his water dish and ended up freezing and [the paws and part of the tail] fell off due to frostbite,” Rex’s owner explained. “This happened before I got him. He never saw a vet until I took him to one after he was healed up already, to my knowledge.”

What’s Rex like? “He is very cuddly and low-energy, he sleeps most of the time,” the adorable cat’s owner told us. “He picked up a bad habit of peeing on furniture and carpets out of preference, we think.” The handsome boy Rex seems to love the outdoors, too. “He likes to be outside sometimes, but I always supervise him if he’s outside because he can’t defend himself from other cats/dogs/etc,” his owner explained.

“Rex has a brother, Pancakes,” Bored Panda was told. “They get along good, always cuddle and sleep near each other, or his brother cleans his face for him.”

Bored Panda also asked what’s the most challenging thing for Rex. “The biggest challenge he has is not stepping in his poop in his litter box,” his owner revealed. “I have to wash him sometimes.”

It’s stated that rugs aren’t used because Rex pees on them. We have incontinent, senior dogs with mobility issues so all our rugs are machine washable on top of a Pergola and ceramic flooring. It keeps them from slipping and it is a breeze to cleanup.
