Woman Thinks That Her Dead Cat Visited Her Room Exactly One Year After She Died, Shows Footage
A Reddit user by the name of chlochan from Swindon, England shared a video on her account in which she supposedly captured her dead cat named Blackjack. People replied with millions of explanations why this happened. Among the possible reasons were the “stray blanket” theory, a camera matrixing issue hypothesis, the contrast-brightness differential between the camera and the room, etc. Except for a few people who strictly denied the existence of ghosts, nobody knows for sure.

Meet Blackjack, who passed a year ago

Chloe gave her own perspective to Bored Panda: “It was a normal day, had been out for a few hours, had just got in and went to check my two cats were in so I could open the front door back up to take the back seats for my partner’s stepdad’s minivan out to him without the cats running out the door and getting in the way. You can see I look at the sofa, but I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. It was only when I checked back on the camera (like I do any time we go out) that I noticed something weird, and it seemed like my cat, Blackjack, that passed away exactly a year ago.”
Here’s the video. Check out how the ‘cat’ materializes on the couch

Owner’s partner and 2 other cats Logan and Rummy don’t let her feel lonely

Despite the fact that she misses Blackjack, the user definitely has someone to keep her company. She has a loving partner (you can see them both together below) and two cats named Logan and Rummy, whose photos you can see there, too. Perhaps Blackjack got bored at the Cat Hotel, and decided to visit his friends.

Share on FacebookIf you look closely at where the "materialized" cat is and then rewind the vid, you can see the shadow of it for most of the vid. It was recorded in nightvision which doesn't show colors in the same way a normal camera does (the parts of the vid that are black & white) and you can hide a lot of things in this way. To all animal lovers - I'm not saying our babes don't come back to us, just that it has never been recorded up to date. And this one is a hoax. A clever one, using technological knowledge, but a hoax still.
Interesting! But perhaps just as likely, it happened randomly and the owner is unaware of how the illusion came to be.
Load More Replies...My Gordi-gurl brushes against my legs every now and then and jumps up on the bed (her heft is definitely noticeable) once in a while. She died a week after my mom did in 2011. After-death visitations by pets do happen; whether or not this video proves it (or not) isn't up to me. Just love your pets well while they have you.
My Mom passed away a couple months after my cat Mike passed. It comforted me to have that picture of Mike sitting on my Mom's lap in heaven in my mind.

My dog passed away on 9/11/19. I keep hearing him. I thought I was losing my mind but after seeing this.....
We used to have old wooden floorboards in the kitchen, and you could always hear our dog walking around by the way his nails clipped the floor. We had a renovation a few years ago and our boy passed well over 10 years ago. However if you are alone in the house and it's deep into the night, occasionally you will hear the same click-clack. We also sometimes find a single hair of his whilst cleaning (this is a house that is kept in perfectly clean condition, and we have had new carpets since then). I can't explain the hairs as we haven't had another furry friend running around, but one explanation for the noise could be something like auditory muscle-memory. You somehow expect to hear a sound, so you do.

I have problems with this. One, they could have easily edited the date and time to make it look like it was a date closer no now than a date longer ago (ik its worded weirdly). Second, it was dark. It could have been another cat of theirs. Or she is just crazy good at editing and put the photo in there to cope with losing the cat.
On the night my grandmother's father died in the first world war, his cat started wailing so my grandmother went to see what the matter was. She saw her father kneeling, petting the cat, and when he looked at her, his eyes flashed like cats eyes. She ran up to bed, scared. The next day, she got the news that he was dead. As her family was quite 'high up' his body was delivered and buried in the back garden. My family was having renovations done on the garden when we accidentally knocked against his coffin. Since we were selling the house, we decided to take it with us. It got knocked when we were carrying it and it opened. Inside, curled up in his mouldering uniform, were the bones of a small cat. His bones were gone. It's never been explained. Please reply if you have an explanation.
that cat didn't look like blackjack at ALL its so obviously her other cat jumping behind the couch.
Your picture together is really cute! Are the rats pets as well? And for the record I don't believe in ghosts but cat ghosts.. They seem to be a different energy.
It is a trick of the light. At the beginning of the video contrast was low so dark objects appeared white (just look at the couch). As light and color and contrast were added to the video the cat "appears." Also the perfect timing of the person entering the room is more than a little suspicious. Altogether, a clever but staged lighting trick.
Source: Anyone who has ever adjusted the contrast on a photograph. The less contrast there is the less detail and definition you see, especially regarding subjects that are very dark or light.

Having said that, 5 days after our dog died, 1.5 years ago, I walked in to the bedroom and there was a pile of blankets on the floor that were in the shape of him. They were of similar color and arranged so that they appeared to be him sleeping. They were in the same spot that he used to sleep in at night.
We still fall for this c**p, we're still the idiots that fell for snake oil and bibles. We're obviously not worthy of knowledge.
I'm positive this is a thing. I've had too many instances in which sounds and sensations occur that I cannot explain that have to do with my beloved 'Tobie', a siamese I lost after only three-years. He was the best cat I ever had and I still think about him to this day -- especially after stories like this. Believe it, there are animal spirits around us.
After having buried 7 cats I am sure that they never return to this valley of tears when they passed over to cat heaven. Hoax.
It's the cat. Back again. So lucky for a visit. My mom an I used to have a fun guy named Patches that had a specific toy ball with a bell in it. When he passed we moved and my mom kept the ball in her bedroom window. And every so often the bell rings. Like it's being played with. No wind. No bumping. It's a high window above her bed. An it's the sound when he would bat it around. Not just a tinkle. And when my husband and I lost one of our old guys Ballsy, every so often I'd see him run across the living room floor out of the corner of my eye. He had a peculiar run and the look of a Halloween arched back cat. So I know when pets are loved they come see the people or items they were attached to. And that's love. We are their whole world and they are ours til we meet again. And visits are nice.
The first clips of the couch, there is nothing on the top of couch. In subsequent shots, the blanket just appears and then a shadowy outline of the black cat. So we have a ghost cat and a ghost blanket.
That's just stuff on the sofa that looks like the contours of a cat from the camera's perspective.
...I thought I was suppose to look for the moving cat in the beginning and I was like "well how the hell am I suppose to tell if they materialize when I have 4 pixels to work with and the cat is already there to begin with??" ...I need to sleep, before I start seeing ghost cats as well :'D
I swear I saw my Irish Setter Jenny's ghost visit me in my bedroom when I was a kid two weeks after she died.
If you believe the spirits of human relatives can visit you, why not the spirits of your pets? Please, you don't still believe that 18th-century anthropocentric cr*p that animals don't have souls? If humans do, animals do. Nonhuman animals are far more deserving of an afterlife than most humans are. Check out Jenny-Jinja.
Midnite came to visit me at night after she died. She did until I got married.
