Cat lover and photographer Lucy Schultz has been fostering kittens and volunteering at the local shelter for most of her life, but she has never had one to call her own since she was a little girl. Until recently. Lucy and her partner for three years, Steven, became financially stable, so they decided to bring a new life to their family. After spending months in search of “the one,” they have settled for a 5-month-old orange and white male at SoulDog Rescue in Colorado. When they brought the little furball home, they were so happy, they decided to organize a photo shoot. It wasn’t, however, a pet-owner shoot you’d expect!
The couple really got into it. Eventually, Lucy and Steven went through every beat of the traditional birthing photoshoot, going as far as “breastfeeding.” They even wrote a text that’s only appropriate: “On 1/10/18 we welcome our first baby kitten, a neutered male DLH,” Lucy commented the images. “He is 22″ long and weighed 6 pounds 7 oz. He is already eating solid food. Name to be announced. We are so in love.”
Scroll down to check out their kitty ‘birthing’ pictures and let us know if you think it’s the right way to welcome a new feline into your life.

Some people thought the couple took it a bit too far
But other applauded them for the creativity
What do you think?
No one who sees this is satire? They are clearly mocking the fact that you "need" to have a human child and that you will eventually want one, the birth pictures is mocking that fact, they want a cat, not a human baby, I find it fun.
Hey, most parents hope for an aesthetically pleasing full head of hair on their baby. ;-)
Load More Replies...please explain why this is disturbing to you. do you think they couple seriously believes the cat is their biological baby?
Load More Replies...Yeah but that's what happens when you post your jokes on the internet. Some will like it, some will hate it. C'est la vie.
Load More Replies...I think many parents will think this is insensitive or even offensive, but having myself tried to avoid taking cliché baby pictures, I find this hillarious. They have a very fine sense for the stereotypes captured in typical baby photoshots! Besides: who finds the cat between the leg "disturbing" should rather ask if it is not disturbing that people put their delivery room pictures on Facebook nowadays.
Some people really put pictures of their child's birth on FB? What in the world...?
Load More Replies...Well, like we say in France, les plus courtes sont les meilleures. The joke is quite funny, but they overstretched it. But being offended by it, I do not understand... It's just a cat and two nerds...
Load More Replies...geez everyone is super ooged out by this photoshoot. they obviously did it for laughs and its not like the cat was actually BIRTHED by her! our pets are like our children and obviously they made a joke out of that concept. yeah its kind of weird but i think everyone who is "disturbed" by this needs to take a step back and analyze why does this bother them so much. hell. TELL me why this bugs you so much and not just "its disturbing to think of birthing a pet"
am i getting downvoted because people don't know how to talk things out or simply because they are too afraid of their own thoughts? if this disturbs you so much then the issue must be with you! maybe some people with over active imaginations running around.
