Canvas Of Cancer: Body Paint Book Of Cancer Survivors

I am a professional face and body painter. I’ve been a professional face painter for 6 years and a body painter for 1 1/2 years. I wanted to do something more than just donate my time at a fundraiser, so I put together a body paint book where all the models are cancer survivors.

There are 16 survivors in the book ranging in age from 4 to 55. All the photographers, models and artists donated their time.

I started out wanting to introduce body painting to people who thought it was risque, just for swimsuits and lingerie or those who had never even heard of body painting. I got the idea to use cancer survivors and include their stories in a book. Each of the body paints in the book was collaborated on with the model and the artist. We tried to paint something that was near and dear to our models hearts.

The children in these photos are absolutely amazing, and some of the most impressive people I’ve ever met. Some have had cancer pretty much their whole lives, yet they remain optimistic and their happiness is contagious.

All the proceeds from the book go back to help those with cancer.
