Photographer Groans Internally When 10 Mins Before Closing He Sees Mom Walk In, But Then He Notices Her Daughter
We all know the feeling. It’s been a long and tiring day at work, there are just a few minutes to go and you are counting them down, cursing the clock as it seems to move ever slower. You’ve already stepped out of work-mode mentally, so when you get that call, that email, that customer through the door literally seconds before freedom, you are totally unprepared and a bit irritable.
Most of us in this situation would try to fudge it somehow, pass on the responsibility and do just about anything to get the hell out of there. This is the story of a guy that didn’t. His heart told him otherwise, and it was the best decision he ever made.
Read the beautifully illustrated story below. It was originally shared on the true story website Not Always Right and is about a sick child, a desperate mother and a kind-hearted photographer. The ending has an amazing plot twist, so don’t forget the Kleenex!

Share on FacebookI think they did marry if he's referring to the girl as he step-daughter...
Load More Replies...I definitely want to see them ! And I love how this spreads so much positivity in us , even if the story is fake or true
Load More Replies...She got a dream photo shoot, her special unicorn pict, a new lease on life, a happy mom, a happy family, and a dad... all because mom helped her follow her dream. Thanks for being the kind of people that make dreams and fairy tales into real-life happy endings - for all 3 of you. Bored pandas everywhere are smiling through our tears.
ohmygod I'm not crying, you are crying. Jesus, this needs to be made into a movie.
Just over a month ago, I lost my father to cancer. It was entirely unexpected and came on very quickly. Only 10 days after finding out about it, he was gone. I understand how unfairly short life can be sometimes, and how hard that fact is on everyone. I am one of those people who would put anything insignificant (or significant) on hold to do anything that I could to help. The photographer, real or fictional, is a good human being. Now I'm standing here crying at my desk...
now you made me cry..... stop it internet people... (my deepest sympathies btw)
Load More Replies...*sobs* What a wonderful story! Faith in humanity restored! His attitude and the fact she got better are one of the best things today :) *still sobs*
"bartender asked me if i'm okay... now we're both crying." love it. me, too... ninjas cutting onions in here. damn it.
This is incredibly adorable, and I'm so glad this sweetheart got better :o)
Dammit, it got really dusty in here suddenly. Stories like this give me hope. I know there are tons of stories like this out there. Why does mainstream media insist on only reporting the bad? It's like they're trying their best to ruin the world and making sure we'll all fighting against each other.
DON'T LET THEM (make you sad)! We are better than that.
Load More Replies...goddammit i was tearing up so quickly..this might be fake, the internet has made me very cynical but like that comment said, i want it to be true the most
This certainly caused me to tear up! And it is against my brand!
I call these Therapy Shoots. They true power of the portrait photographer is to show Someone that they are in fact Someone. Not only is is powerful for the person being photographed, but also for me as a photographer.
Beautiful, absolutely amazing! Thank you for bringing us all down like you, ya big bearded emotional dude!
I love what you did for the little girl and her mother. Tears in my eyes.
I sometimes wish I didn't have any feelings. Life would be a lot easier if I didn't have to feel all the time... But this beautiful story reminded me why feelings are awesome... Crying, laughing, loving... โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
A.R.K Act of Random Kindness - the little thing one can do that give a lifetime of smiles :)
This made me cry. As someone who had a family member be really sick itโs awesome to see someone take the time to make this little girl feel like she wasnโt at a time she was.
Thank you I am crying as I write this what a wonderful story I really hope itโs true I would love to think that magic is real xx
I'm also a guy with a beard and that story made me feel all the feels
Its all about love ...and btw being a dude with a beard dont mean anything about sensitive u are ๐
I'm sitting in the dark so my son, who is lounging in my recliner/bed can't see the tears running down my cheeks, I know this won't be the last time I cry at this memory of such a big heart and kindness. I'm glad they found each other and are a happy family now and she's well again. Fate stepped in and gave them all what they needed....each other.
Absolutely the best 'happily ever after' I can imagine :) such a beautiful story!!
damn...... a man in 40's in the office with a tear......... f**k........
OMG this is absolutely the best thing i have ever read. thank you so much.
Yeah nice dude, absolutely good on you pal, you got a heart..but you mention being big with a beard...what has that got to do with having compassion?, i'm big and have a beard and i'm the soppiest c**t going.
Touching story whether it's fact or fiction. This story would make for a great book or a movie.
My in laws moved to Florida from Virginia in January and bought a house on my street. It took some fixing up but they moved into the house in February. My father-in-law became sick and we went to several doctors and they gave him less than 4 months to live. I am the type that will never surrender and so is my father-in-law. After many rounds of chemotherapy he looked nearly dead but we had the test run and he was cancer free. The Dr who 5 months ago now said he wanted him to get Proton Beam Therapy from the University of Florida Proton Institute; 33 doses in total. I agreed that since I can work from anywhere we would rent an apartment in Jacksonville and I'd get him to and from his apointments. What I didn't know was that the place was full of kids from all over the world. Most had no hair and every day it ripped my heart out to see them. He finished his treatments and I've done some volunteer work for them. This picture is the wonderful people who finished the same week as he did. 33724-59ec...7-jpeg.jpg
There are stories that strike a chord. There are songs worth singing because they need be sung, and because they need be heard. There needs be no question as to the veracity of such things. The story I share here does not need to have happened in our "Real World" to be entirely the Truest of Truths. If what was illustrated below did in fact happen the way it is described, then the world already has even more reason to believe Hope is worth fighting for. If it hasn't happened yet, and it is merely an allegorical parable; a story written to dream of a better world, and in so dreaming, bring it into being, then it is still just as powerful; just as True.
When did we stop believing in Wonder and Miracles? The "Why" of it doesn't matter - there is no rational and good reason to stop having faith in the best of ourselves. Not sure even the "When" is relevant. But I have never stopped, and I can with full clarity make a vow: I will not cease my journey until we can recognize the moment in our past when we as a world, started believing in Magic once more. When finally my heart beats it's last, it will be with the solemn satisfaction of knowing that I helped the world remember why we dream of flying, though we have no wings to bear us upwards. #thewarforhope

It was cute, but then I read the last frame, and my heart just exploded. I love this story
I started crying and my boyfriend brought me breakfast. Now he things I can get emotional over a toast, thank ya! :D what a great man <3
Great story, great person .. a hero perhaps :) Knowing that the little girl get better made me so happy, and the fact that the mother and the photographer eventually got married and now a happy family ... best thing to end the day :)
OK - Sitting here at the comp bawling like a baby <3 I SO hope this is a true story!
As an adult cancer survivor, I find myself shaken with overwhelming gratitude that this little one recovered... it took a lot of my adult toolkit of emotional reserves to survive. I often wonder how it is for sick kids. I hope this is a true story, because if it isn't, I have a very stuffy nose now, for no reason at all! :)
Stuff like this happens thousands of times daily. It's not newsworthy, though...
Dammit, stop masking me cry.... just when you think it's had a great ending, it tops it with an even greater ending for the photographer....
Ahhh what a lovely story and hats off to you for doing this - and you gained a family to boot too! xxx

And i am crying like a baby panda... love exists ! And it does miracles too .. fairytales
This is so great I might just work overtime the whole week, and I'm just an IT guy.
Okay, I'm confused: in the last panel, is he saying that he married the mom, or am I not interpreting it well?
I definitely want to see the pictures too. It's hard to type when you are bawling your eyes out.
There must be a lot of mold in the air...or pollen or something.
