Announcing the New Shapes Photography Contest: Shape Your Vision!

We are thrilled to announce the call for submissions for the 42nd printed issue of AAP Magazine, themed “Shapes.” This issue will spotlight the most compelling projects that explore and celebrate shapes in photography. Shapes are everywhere—look around and observe the points, lines, patterns, and silhouettes that form our world. From squares and circles to triangles and hexagons, the choice is yours!

Capture the essence of shapes through light, texture, and shadow, and let your creativity shine.

Henri Cartier-Bresson once said, “The rhythm of surfaces, lines, and values is for me the essence of photography; composition should be a constant of preoccupation… an organic coordination of visual elements.”

We invite photographers to submit their images, preferably in series, where shapes not only influence the photos but also stand as the primary subject. Whether your work falls under architecture, portrait, landscape, nude, street, or any other genre—classic or experimental—we want to see your best and most intriguing photography from around the globe.

Prizes and Recognition

Winners will receive cash awards totaling $1,000, have their work printed in AAP Magazine #42, and gain extensive press coverage.

Hey there, Pandas! My name is Diana (though some prefer to refer to me as Diane, Deanna, and even Liana sometimes), and I am a Community Post Moderator Lead for Bored Panda. As my position title states, I am one of the people (employed Pandas for bamboo) over here who work with the community side of things on this website to ensure all is well, and while at that, I also help various creators and artists get recognition for the incredible work they do by connecting them to a large worldwide audience. Other than that, outside of work, you can find me brewing a nice cup of coffee, making a pizza from scratch, or baking brownies. I also love traveling, concerts, and cats (heavy on that, because I am a cat mom).
