Powerful Sculpture At Burning Man Shows Inner Children Trapped Inside Adult Bodies

There were thousands of beautiful works of art at this year’s Burning Man festival in Nevada, but there’s one that caught people’s eyes and invited them to interpret its meaning. This beautiful sculpture by Ukrainian artist Alexander Milov features two wire-frame adults sitting back to back with their inner children reaching out to each other from within. At night, the inner children lit up as well.

You’re free to come to your conclusions about the Burning Man sculpture’s meaning, but here’s what Milov wrote about his work of art on the festival’s website: “It demonstrates a conflict between a man and a woman as well as the outer and inner expression of human nature. Their inner selves are executed in the form of transparent children, who are holding out their hands through the grating. As it’s getting dark (night falls) the children start to shine. This shining is a symbol of purity and sincerity that brings people together and gives a chance of making up when the dark time arrives.”

The beautiful message it sends isn’t the only reason why this sculpture artwork is so important – it’s also the first time that a Ukrainian artist received a Burning Man art grant.

There is a beast with heart of cold stone that dashes like lightning, shreds flesh from bone. // Bewitched by this beast, I fell to my knees. My mouth babbled madness and mumbled soft pleas. // I stared down the ravenous, gnashing dark maw of a cute cuddly kitten with yarn in its paw

I agree, somewhere in each of us lurks a child waiting (or not) to be in tune with our adulthood. I absolutely love this.

I can see two children torn apart by divorced parents who only want to see each other.

To me the children represents the idea of how growing into adulthood complicates relationships and the need to listen to our inner child. .

For me it represents a couples struggle for child birth, two inner children wanting to meet but are contained. However there is always hope 'a light' and one day the children will become one.

Dear friends, We are happy to announce Aleksandr’s decision to find “LOVE” a new home. The sculpture is now stored in a container on the ranch in Gerlach, Nevada and offered for sale. Check out the link below and tell the whole world about it! http://www.use.com/IDhxm 2-5771da385e4a7.jpg 2-5771da385e4a7.jpg

Sometimes it takes an artist to express real meanings of life where words fail.

Grato Momento.

What I got - The pain and despair of adult life and all it's pressures can drag down and destroy us. It is only by reaching out to one another from that place of pure light from where we came that we truly come to understand one another and find freedom and solace from the pressures of our external world.

This great sculpture is a metaphor of temptation I know for handling relationships difficulties. I sometimes close doors of communications with someone who has heart me severely to support my fear of receiving more pain instead of risking to connect again his/her inner child with mine to focus on what can keep us together.

This great sculpture in my view is explaining our favored behavior in existing relationships. This behavior usually supports our fear of being heart again by someone we know and it goes against our childhood call of allowing our guts to connect with that person's innocent identical call.
