40-Year-Old Britney Spears Announces That She’s Pregnant, The Internet Showers Her With Love And Support
When Britney Spears was finally let go from her conservatorship, it felt revolutionary. The moment that she and her fans had been waiting so long for came true and Britney could have a breath of fresh air, beginning a new stage in her life.
Spending all those years being controlled like a prisoner gave Britney a lot of time to think about what she would do with her life once she was in charge of her own life again. Like having a baby, as she confessed during an address to the court when the pop star was still in the process of getting rid of her conservator.
As a free woman, Britney did what she was thinking about in those years when she was locked up: she got pregnant and announced it herself on her Instagram.

Britney Spears posted the announcement on April 11 and gave us a little context on how she found out that she was pregnant. Turns out, after the Maui trip she went on with her fiance Sam Asghari earlier this year, Britney lost a lot of weight, but then noticed that it was all coming back. At first thinking that it was a food baby, she later did a pregnancy test and learnt that her belly bump was hiding a real baby.
Britney Spears also shared that she had perinatal depression before, which includes the period of being pregnant and up to a year after giving birth. However, this time the mom is feeling hopeful as women don’t need to hide it and deal with it on their own anymore.

Britney Spears mentioned she wanted another baby during a court hearing on June 23, 2021. In her address before a Los Angeles court and Judge Brenda Penny, the singer revealed that the conditions she was living in were abusive and inhumane because she wanted to get married and have a baby, but she wasn’t allowed to. “I would like to progressively move forward and I want to have the real deal. I want to be able to get married and have a baby. I have an [IUD] inside of myself so I don’t get pregnant. They don’t want me to have children — any more children.”
A few days after Britney was released from the conservatorship, she expressed the wish to have more kids again in an Instagram post and wrote, “I’m thinking about having another baby !!! I wonder if this one is a girl.”

Another thing that pop diva’s fans didn’t fail to notice was that in the announcement post, Britney referred to Sam as her husband, making many believe that the couple got secretly married. They have been together for 6 years since 2016 when they met on the set of her “Slumber Party” music video.

Sam also shared a post on his Instagram addressing Britney’s pregnancy and it seems that he is as excited about becoming a father as Britney is about becoming a mom again. He mentioned that “Marriage and kids are a natural part of a strong relationship filled with love and respect” which adds to the theories that the couple is now husband and wife.

Britney Spears spent about 13 years in a conservatorship under her father following her mental breakdown in 2007. After a while, fans started to suspect that Britney’s father might be taking advantage of her as the singer seemed to be perfectly capable of making life decisions for herself.
She wasn’t allowed to visit her friends or ride in her boyfriend’s car, she was required to take medication that made her feel unwell and as mentioned before, she couldn’t get pregnant as she wasn’t allowed to see a doctor to get her IUD removed. But she was giving concerts and putting on long shows with high energy, so it wasn’t adding up.

Fans created even created a movement, #FreeBritney, focused on bringing awareness to the illogical things about her conservatorship. It got so big that Netflix released a documentary Britney vs Spears, however, they didn’t talk to Britney herself.
The joined forces of fans and Britney’s attorneys resulted in the singer getting back her freedom on November 12, 2021 when the court terminated her conservatorship effective immediately. Since then she has shared her joys of experiencing life again, like having a glass of champagne, thinking about getting a cat, celebrating her birthday and Christmas as an independent person, traveling, taking time off or working when she feels like it.

Fans continue supporting their idol and congratulated her on becoming a mom again. They feel that this is a big win and feel very happy that she can be her own person with her own goals as most of us are.

Share on FacebookI’m glad that she’s giving perinatal depression some coverage. It’s an awful and debilitating thing.
I never did understand the people whose mentality is "this person has it better than others and therefore their struggles aren't valid". There is always someone that has it worse than others, it doesn't mean the things they are enduring aren't heavy or hard.
Imagine both of your parents and your baby sister all caring more about your money than you. That's horrible and I can't imagine the psychological impact of feeling that for a decade.
Load More Replies...Why does it gotta be "40 year old" Britney Spears in the title. A woman is not her age. Rude.
They took away her freedom after she had a mental breakdown and kept her locked in with no rights for years and years without proper revaluation. They made her work to benefit others and at the same time saying she wasn't mentally fit to make any decisions. I would say it's pretty bad. On another level it's also scary because it shows that, even today, if women "misbehave" they can be stripped from all rights in some circumstances without people questioning it (they did at the end but it took a long time, too long). Including rights of their bodies (as she was forced to be on birth control). On a third note, suffering and pain is relative and can't be that easily compared.
