Brazilian Uses Strong Shadows To Create Mysterious Street Photographs
In “Sombras da Rua” (Shadows of the street), the Brazilian photographer Apolo Sales presents a series of street photographs in which light and hard shadow, combined with a super contrasted treatment, bring a mystery about who is being portrayed.
Born in São Paulo, Apolo Sales is 34 years old and has been photographing for five years. Most of his work is dedicated to street photography. In 2019, he inaugurated his first individual exhibition, “Animais do Coração,” in which he proposes a reflection on the way we treat animals, how we relate to them, and shows their importance in our lives. Still, in 2019, he won the CATographer of the year contest.
