Woman Posts Outfit Pics Her Boyfriend Hates, Captions Each One With A Quote From Him (30 Pics)
One way to prove a point to your significant other is to start an Instagram account, make it go viral and have thousands of people agreeing with you. That's exactly what London blogger Olivia Jackson did, starting the page @clothesmyboyfriendhates, with over 60K followers loving the outfits she wears that her boyfriend just can't stand.
Does your significant other always agree with your fashion choices? Scroll down below to see Olivia's favorite 'controversial' clothes, as well as some of her boyfriend's witty criticisms, for yourself, and let us know your thoughts in the comments!

Me as soon as the sun comes out ...Dressed like a farmer according to my boyfriend!
"My inspiration came from my boyfriend's sarcastic comments about my outfits, but my willingness to wear them anyway, and him still loving me anyway," Olivia told Bored Panda. "I wanted to, and still aim to, empower women to dress for themselves rather for others around them.
Because couples don't always have to agree on everything, it's how you deal with your differences that is key to a long-lasting relationship. Jackson and her boyfriend clearly have a matching sense of humor and don't take themselves too seriously – this really helps!
"Humour definitely plays a big part!" she said. "He probably doesn't appreciate them because he doesn't keep up with women's fashion trends and that I'm partial to a bright colour or something with pom poms on. Luckily, he's now used to me wearing them anyway and not listening so there's not too much negotiation - just an eye roll or sarcastic comment from him usually!"
Our Saturday morning..
‘My car doesn’t need fixing Liv’
‘I know it doesn’t?’
‘Why are you dressed like a mechanic then?’
*glare*
’I’ll bring you coffee’
Olivia doesn't think that women should care what their partners think about their choice of clothing, but she understands those that do. "If you're not particularly confident about yourself (and we've all been there), your partner's opinion can really affect how you feel about your fashion choices," she continued. "I think your partner should love you for you, not for what you're wearing!
“My boyfriend actually loves that I’ve found a community of other women whose partners hate their fashion choices too. Despite his sarcastic comments and eye rolls, he still comes out with me wearing a ‘hospital gown’ or ‘mechanics outfit’ and is totally supportive of me wearing what I want and dressing for myself.”
At least I had a puppy glued to me all day to cover the ‘toddler outfit’ he hates
Obviously he asked me why I was going out dressed as a flamenco dancer though
This is the ultimate message of Olivia's page: have the confidence in your own choices, even if cheeky loved ones either don't get it, or just enjoy taking the piss from time to time.
“I started writing my blog in May 2018, shortly after starting my Instagram page. On the whole, the feedback to both has been overwhelmingly supportive. I regularly get messages from women thanking me for inspiring them to be a bit more brave which their fashion choices, which I absolutely love and it reassures me that I'm doing the right thing by sharing. I've met a lovely community of women who are now dressing for themselves which is great!"
I’m not 100% sure what he hates more - it’s reflectiveness, or the fact my mum has the same one and we’ll happily wear them together.
His comment about this one when I wore it for my first day in a new job: ‘it’s very blue, isn’t it?!’
Dungarees will always be firmly in the #clothesmyboyfriendhates category. Often told I look like a toddler. With this outfit, he just sung YMCA to me!?
I'm no fan of turtlenecks (unless they're on a turtle) but the pants are great!
‘I’ve never seen a mechanic wear pink before to be fair’ J said as he dropped me off at Galentines dinner
J once told me this looked like something the queen would wear but I am a queen so?
My boyfriend’s told me this blazer looks like pyjamas and a male colleague at work today said, ‘oh that’s a jazzy coat Liv’
The other day I was asked what item of clothing my boyfriend hates the most. I reckon it’s this technicolour dreamcoat dress of dreams
‘What are those?’
‘Aren’t they fun?!’
‘They’re ridiculous!’
I think they look like something a unicorn would wear )) Love it ))
Very much loving the fact Autumn is coming! He very much hates these ‘slippers’
These shorts are not only hated by my boyfriend, but his grandad also commented that they were ‘err.. different’ last time I wore them
Jack’s working away this week, and when I sent him a photo of this dress he at first said ‘summery’ - when I sent a different angle which showed my trainers he said he hated it.
My boyfriend when I produced this scrunchie from the Wear the Dress day goody bag: ‘Is that a swatch of the fabric? Does it grow into a real dress?’ ‘Nooo, It’s a scrunchie!’ ‘Do you have to dye that too?’
Another day, another leopard dress (he also hates mustard so this one’s a double winner!)
He hates bright, bold, blue... Neutrals I get it - they are called neutral for a reason. But wtf DOES he like?
According to J’s mate, ‘they’re shite pants them’ (say it in a scouse accent). J thought I looked like I was going to work
Can't stand the "trainers" are they your standard dress? Spots on these pants "wear" you as they are too big. Small ones would be great.
J HATED these when I wore them last time we were there. Actually, my whole family abused me for them, but they remind me of the jelly shoes I used to have on holiday as a child!
He made me stand next to the car I was ‘about to fix’ for this one. I am a bit of a car nut though so I’m not complaining.
I bought these while I was shopping with my boyfriend and you can imagine his face when I put them on he said ‘I don’t understand them’
I suspect she is actively requesting his opinion, and obviously takes it in good humour. He seems quite astute in his observations.
She does wear some pretty weird stuff but she has every right to do it, and it reflects her style. I actually think the boyfriend is pretty funny some of the things he says. I get there feeling their difference of opinion on her clothing is pretty light-hearted. Hopefully they have fun with it.
Your idea and mine of weird are very different Paul.
