Boyfriend Surprises His Girlfriend By Drawing Her In 10 Different Cartoon Styles, And It Melts Her Heart
Kellen Hickey, a sketch artist from Minnesota has decided to give himself and his girlfriend a makeover. 10 times. Only he used drawing instead of experimenting with wacky hairstyles or extravagant clothes. "Drew Linds and I in 10 different famous cartoon styles," he wrote after nailing every single one of them.
"We tend to spend the little amount of time together in the evenings making a nice dinner and watching some of our shows/cartoons," Kellen told Bored Panda. "I've always had a huge interest in cartoons/anime and as we've been dating, she's developing an interest of her own."
"I had mentioned to her that I had been working on a gift for her about a month or so before the holidays," Kellen said. "On Christmas Eve, when we both got off work, we exchanged gifts. She was excited and wanted to go first, of course, I obliged. She ripped the tissue paper off, grabbed the drawings and ignored the other gifts for about 30 minutes. Linds had been thanking me over and over as she was looking through them. When she finished her eyes looked pretty puffy, she jumped on me and gave me a huge hug and kiss, looked me in the eyes and said, 'I love you to the moon and back.' It was perfect, her reaction nearly made me cry."
Most of these are cartoons the couple watch together a lot. "A few were styles I thought looked nice and had always wanted to try and interpret (Rubberhose, Modern Disney). And then there was one that I drew just because of my love for it (Dragon Ball Z)." In fact, Dragon Ball Z has been and always will be Hickey's favorite show! I try and tell my kids that a personal gift, something that you made yourself worth so much more than something you'd buy at a store. This is a perfect example of this. So cool!
Doesn't anyone run a spellcheck before posting anymore? (Yes, I am fun at parties) Simpsons, not "Simpson's" South Park, not "Southpark"
Great! Given their ages, I bet they grew up with Rugrats. Love to see them in that style!
Before he showed us all the names of the cartoons, I was able to guess where they all came from, he is that good!
God damn you panda stop spamming my browser with popups that I didn't sign up for.
