At Least One Youngster Agrees
In order to understand the true essence of these posts, let's explore the history of the baby boomer generation. While facing great uncertainty and hardship during the period of 1946-1964, many couples in the United States had put a hold on starting a family.
In the aftermath of conquering these challenges, people were ready to have kids as they believed that the future would be filled with happiness and success. Families started growing faster than ever before – giving birth to the baby boom generation! The US alone welcomed 76 million bundles of joy during this time.
An Actual Cute One
During this era, labor unions promised higher salaries, businesses were booming, and new consumer goods were hitting the market shelves. In short, people were living the dream. With prosperity came change as families started heading to the suburbs for a better life.
As corporations kept growing, the markets were filled with more affordable products. Cars, home appliances, TVs – you name it, they had it. Parents wanted to give their families all the material things they couldn’t have.

Boomer Humour
Many adults had started buying things like washing machines and refrigerators. They had unknowingly become a part of the consumer economy. In fact, businesses started targeting the millions of relatively affluent boomer children with their marketing efforts.
For instance, kids were buying mouse-ear hats after watching the Disney show and barbie dolls and Elvis Presley records and so much more. A Life magazine article from 1958 proclaimed that children were a “built-in recession cure.”

Once the boomers approached adolescence, some of them started having different thoughts about consumerism. Something began to shift as these restless teenagers questioned the status quo and craved something more. And thus, the youth counterculture movement was born.

I suppose the take away from all this is that the younger generations don't understand what boomer humour is. I suggest you look at Monty Python and the Carry On films to see what it actually was.
I found this article offensive, and judgemental... You think your not a boomer?? ......just wait your turn from the next generation kids......
A boomer is a person born in the "baby boom" generation within 20 years past WW2 in the 20th century, so no, there will never again be any more. Ever. This was just a string of jokes so old they grew hair.
Load More Replies...Couldn't get through all of them. It's all 'women bad, hate wife, kids are stupid because they can't work tech that was outdated decades before they were born, the newer generation has different values hisssss'. Like a giant sign saying we're narcissistic bullies who no longer care about the kids who died when we were little, so we'll make fun of kids bike helmets and safety precautions now.
Can we please stop the generational stereotyping, what generation labelling amounts to is badly disguised ageism it divides people and alienates them and rarely has a bearing on when a person is born, we are not sheep to be put in our own little pens don't treat us as such.
Yeah, that's ridiculous. So many people blame older generation for everything's bad, and old people blame young people too... It happen a lot in America, where hate dominate everything.
Load More Replies...Absolutely ridiculous. What is all this attacking of boomers. I’m not even a boomer and I find it incredibly insulting. We will all age so stop being jerks toward the older generation.
Hey, I'm a millennial. The whole generational thing is BS but it isn't a one way street.
Load More Replies...A few are actually funny, the rest are so bad the EPA stops you from throwing them away.
Weird how often these associate misogyny, racism, general bigotry with being a boomer. Honestly those people are around for every generation.
Another pointless boomer hate post... Do these people realised they have become what they hate?? Hating other generation for no other reason than it's another generation? If you don't like older people doing generalization about your generation, why do it yourself?
