24 Photos Of Tiny Treehouses Handcrafted Within Bonsai Trees By The Late Dave Creek
If you’ve never heard of Dave Creek, the brilliantly talented artist, chances are you know his work from Bob’s Burgers. Dave was the lead character designer who had been working on the hit cartoon series since day one. Tragically, on January 7, Dave died of sustained injuries from a skydiving accident, leaving his family, creative team, and fans shattered.
Dave not only designed your “favourite character on Bob’s at some point,” according to the cartoon director Simon Chong, but he also showed his exceptional talent for hand-creating bonsai tree houses.
The pieces feature tiny houses, ladders, balconies, and steps that form miniature architectural wonders and complement the geometry of bonsai trees. More than anything, they speak of Dave’s tremendous patience, immaculate eye for detail, and passion for creativity, for all of which he will be deeply missed.

Share on FacebookI'm impressed by the artistic part naturally but the attention to detail and patience required i s impossible for me to fathom. I'd be breaking sticks and setting them on fire after an hour.
Bonsai trees? I think they are actually just dead branches trimmed up. None of them have any live growth on them.
I want to see some bonsai experts' views on this! They seem to be actually really nice trees, far from the stunted shrubs mostly sold as 'bonsai', and take quite precise care of.
As many species that are used in the art of bonsai are not suitable for indoors, I wonder if they treehouses are able to hold up over wintering. I'd love to see these same houses after a few years just to see how the wood used in them ages. Simply gorgeous!!
I wish I had the steady hands to do something like this. A beautiful result and looks very relaxing.
