Can cake smash sessions be cheesy? Sure! But…. Nothing can be more adorable of a milestone than turning one. And this little one year-old certainly takes the cake. She had the perfect Cake Smash Session with flowers to make turning one a very sweet memory.

I remember just how little and snuggly she was, and how sleepy she became as soon as the puppies laid with her. I was so glad when they signed up for my Grow with Me plan. Seeing my clients grow up and being able to photograph them through the years is why I love what I do. My Grow with me Baby plan includes mini sessions at the ages of 3 months, 6 months, 9 months and one year. There is an option to upgrade the one year-old milestone to a Cake Smash Session. It is so cute to watch how my little clients grow and change over the year, and an adorable way for you to document your baby’s first year of life.

CAKE SMASH SESSION WITH FLOWERS

I love designing my cake smash sessions. First, I have my clients choose a color palette or a theme, and then we go from there. We work together to find vendors to supply the decorations, and we work together to find a cake design and different outfits that would match the theme. I provide all the outfits for the pre-cake smash and my parents usually provide the cake smash outfit as it can get quite messy! Check out my gallery to see some of the beautiful themes I’ve done.

My client decided to have the Cake Smash Session with flowers to bring out the boho chic theme she was having for her daughter’s first birthday. She even brought some of the flowers she was going to use for the party and I strung them together to make a gorgeous garland. I just love all the rich tones of the pink and orange flowers. We ordered a beautiful orange ombre cake from The Lucky Cupcake Company to finish off the look. It looks so perfect on my vintage cake stand.

The birthday girl was a bit iffy when she arrived but when we brought out the cake, she lit up!!! She just loved tasting the cake and soon had no fear getting her hands right into it. I just love how the cream, lace romper brings out her beautiful, light blue eyes. The yellow ensemble her mom brought looked adorable on her while she sat on my antique wooden bucket.
