In honor of the 50th anniversary of the BMW brand in Italy, BMW Italia and Garage Italia Customs have teamed up to release a particular car model. Made in the style of the Italian artist Giacomo Balla, model BMW i8 Futurism Edition participated in the annual race Mille Miglia as an auto-support for BMW 328 Sergio Soler, president and CEO of BMW Italy.

In the exterior of the car the work of Giacomo Balla “Street Lamp” was used. This famous painting is now exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art in New York. The work, which depicts the lantern, pouring light into the darkness, is cars BMW i8, running on electricity.
Lapo Elkann, the president and founder of Garage Italia Customs recalls that car – the result of a joint effort with BMW Italia. Sergio Soler, president and CEO of BMW Italia, said that the car that was released on the 50th anniversary of BMW in Italy, combines elements of a sports car of the future and embodies Italian art and creativity.
Drawing on the film, which is plastered with body BMW i8, should be reminded of the movie “Street Light” written by Italian artist Giacomo Balla in 1909. The picture is exhibited in the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The power plant has not undergone changes. BMW i8 is equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine produces 231 horsepower, 131-horsepower electric motor, a set of lithium batteries and a six-speed automatic transmission. This car is gaining “hundreds” of 4.4 seconds. Its maximum speed is 250 kilometers per hour.
