I saw on another source that the animal shelter she got the dog from took it back. I hope that's really true, she almost killed it because she refused to bend over slightly or use a leash like she should have in the first place.

You're going to have to do the right thing and tell Daisy's owner - even if you have to do it on the sly. If you explain what has happened they don't need to ever let them look after Daisy again and they don't have to give a reason. When someone doesn't understand something that basic then they need to have the choice taken away from them - no consideration for the dog, then no looking after the dog.

Sadly there is racism that is alive all over the world. In the United Kingdom there is strong racial prejudice against Romani populations and some immigrant populations. It is a festering evil that I truly wish would go away. It is not something that people are inherently born with. It is a ignorant and disgusting behaviour that is taught (just like religious intolerance, sexism, and homophia). However, there are still many many people out there who stand up against racism, religious intolerance, homophobia, etc.

If there's not much coverage, then how do you know about it?

1. I don't want to point out any usernames. Discrimination and prejudice are very dark things to harbor. Ignorance following closely. Do not compare and equate the systematic oppression and terrifying threats that minorities and groups of people face, on a daily basis. Do not make it about you and the people who have to bear minor inconveniences to unlearn their negative ways. The standards are so high for minorities that it is disheartening, it is discouraging to live that way without room to breathe or make minor mistakes and grow from them. When the "Black Live Matter" movement started, what was the response? All lives matter and crying racism towards white people. The same response can be said about male oppression. It is an opportunity for you to learn and listen about what's going on, from someone who is actually living it. You don't even have to do your homework about the neuroscience and social history behind hatred and racism.

3. Pointing out racism towards minorities is trying to fix something wrong. Pointing out that people can be racist, and all the different ways they are is something else. One advances the dialogue, the other feeds into racial division and upholds the institutions that keep deadly, ugly racism alive. Talk about the outliers as you recognize them to be, but don't kid yourself by equating the two.

2. Just make sure you wade through the sea of information for credible sources. How long did minorities and females actually have a platform to raise their concerns about the systems that harm us all? Nothing changes because people who are unaffected don't see or even willing to see/hear the problems other people face. The worse part is, some aren't willing to change a system that inherently benefits them. Punish criminals for their trespasses equally, and give redemption for lesser crimes. Don't perpetuate a system that forces minorities down that path in the first place. A young black girl I know was told by her white other, you better not hang with the wrong crowd or make any mistakes. You are a black girl, there are no second chances for you. Some of her wealthy, private school counterparts are regularly dabbling with drugs and petty theft.

There is not a "culture of police officers killing African American men" the scope is too narrow, and this is done so it can become weaponized politically. Police inflicting needless harm is an issue we all need to address, but the media and politicos want to label it as a "black issue" to try and pretend they care about black people. Inciting fear and anger is a great way to ensure that minorities not only continue to vote for the people who are responsible for these terrible policies, but that they also exert enormous social pressure on those that dare question the narrative.

You know, that’s an excellent point. I think the goal here is to reverse the centuries of horrific treatment African Americans have received in the US at white hands. I think this story is especially horrific because the officer choked the victim to death. Now to preface what I’m going to say next, I dont think this is right at all. Criminals of all races should be treated the same, so long as it is the same. As to these other stories, I don’t think they were widely circulated in part, at least, because it would be a step in the wrong direction towards inequality, because airing these stories would show the racist bigots that “black people attack old people, one more reason to hate them or distrust them.” Thank you for bringing that up though, and I don’t know whether or not I’m right. I’m no professional, just my take on it.

(Continued) Ending bias is just a really tough thing to do. I don’t know. Like I said, people are protesting all over the country, showing people care. Whether the methods of protesting are justified is another matter altogether. I’m not sure how we can end racism, and you are right, this may not be racist at all, but it certainly appears to be. I cannot say beyond a shadow of a doubt that no members of another demographic have died in police custody in a similar fashion. That being said, I can say for a fact that several other African American people have died in a similar fashion at the hands of police, and many of them were either proven to be innocent, or at least, pose no real threat to the officers. I don’t know whether this man was guilty of forging a check or not, but forging a check does not carry a death sentence in the state of Minnesota, nor any other state, nor are officers generally permitted to murder suspects of a crime in custody. It seems to be the latest in a clear trend of white officers killing black young men. Whether or not that was the reason remains to be seen. As for ending racism, wow. That is a big step, but big steps have been made before. Slavery ended, and legal discrimination ended before. I don’t know how we can end racism though. There are protests, and I think that this shows that people care

As for spreading racism, the OP comic is racist toward white people. It portrays a negative racial stereotype about white people.
