Think of the most unusual (or disgusting) scene you've ever seen on a plane flight. Now imagine sharing that with more than 745,000 followers on Instagram? This is how "Passenger Shaming" works, an Instagram account dedicated to spreading the most bizarre moments and bad manners seen on flights - and recorded by passengers or commissioners.
The public shaming site was started by Shawn Kathleen — a mom, former police officer and paramedic who worked as a flight attendant for seven years. She came up with the original concept and started the brand on her own approximately five years ago. It has since been featured in most media outlets across the globe and was named one of the “Best 100 Instagram accounts" by Rolling Stone Magazine.
Scroll down and see just how rude people can get while on a plane for yourself!

Boy! Flying these days looks horrible! And to think being a flight attendant was my teenage dream job! I remember traveling with my father in the early 60s, when you wore nice clothing, and acted respectably. Now the staff has to deal with these awful passengers.
Well, flying got much cheaper, so it's not a very special experience now. Standards have fallen pretty low, but I'm not sure it's entirely the passengers' fault. Airline companies do their best to make flying less and less convenient and comfortable, so it's no surprise that some people just don't give a s**t anymore... Personally, I avoid economy class if I can now. Only because the quality of services is so low... Wasn't the case when I started flying intensively 15 years ago.

Exactly. Plus, several of these need context before judgements can be made. This is the internet though and people will feel confident they know the whole story from a single snapshot. I'm glad they aren't judges.
Load More Replies...Half of these problems would've been solved by saying "excuse me, you are occupying my space/ your hair is in my screen/ your ugly-a*s, disgusting feet are in my seat".
not necessarily. The people are already rude enough to do, and these days, people are being taught to avoid confrontation. "Using your words" is great, until the other side doesn't really give a damn.
Load More Replies...WTH is wrong with people? A normal person wouldn't do any of these things! P**s on the seat? Naked? Jacking off? I think this calls for a fly by, opening the door and pushing them out! Jeez!!
I really hope that instead of just passive-aggressively posting pictures, most of these people said something to those passengers.
People who stick their filthy, smelly bare feet all over other people's spaces should be put on a permanent no-fly list.
I get people don't have respect for others and clearly they also don't have it for themselves either.
I haven't had any flights with people who behave like this, thank goodness, but it all would have been absolutely unimaginable 20 years ago.
Every generation thinks "People these days....." as if people haven't been the same since the dawn of time. FFS, 20 years ago was 1999. The world is almost exactly the same as it was in 1999.

Don't care what circumstance you should always teach your kids to respect other people stuff, animals and the earth. Only poor upbringing will let the kids destroyed others and still take it for granted. If you are fly to another country better save up a little bit more to business class, save you alot of trouble, or states to states we rather drive.
ETA: Business class or not I always have my Dettol hand sanitizer wipes all over our seats first before seating down.
Load More Replies...Here you are boys and girls! These are the people who will be on the front lines of a zombie apocalypse!!! There seem to be enough of them to fill up each and every zombie so that all of us smart ones have a chance to get away, unless you plan to play whack-a-mole in the graveyard!
Most of this can be avoided if people would just act like they were in a public place , because that is what it is . You got to any store you have wear shirts and shoes . If you have long hair keep it in our own area and not over someone else seat because it is a hygiene issue .
Really think about it. Airlines have become buses that fly. The other gross thing is the ratty pillows teens seem to have to carry with them.
I saw a Mad Magazine comic to that effect.....from 1983.
Load More Replies...Flying is like riding the bus now, but more trouble. I'll stick to buses & trains.
You would think flight attendants could say something. I am sure they can’t because people are so dramatic nowadays and would start something.
If there's one thing that ruins a flight it's that inevitably there's a kid behind me kicking my seat and/or a kid nearby screaming. Why don't they reserve a couple rows in the back for families with children?!
If there's one thing I absolutely hate about flying, it's that inevitably there's a kid behind me kicking my seat, and other kids nearby crying (screaming.) They should have the last several rows just for families with kids.
Oh wow! I guess using barf bags to throw up in when you have motion sickness doesn't fall in the wicked passenger category. Maybe If I'd thrown up on my neighbor's lap it would have been a different story.
I have not flown in over 20 years because of the crazies and the crappy airline service. This just shows nothing has changed.
This whole thing is why I'm glad I never have flown, never will fly, never want to fly. Disgusting!
I hate air travel- but I hate the people encountered during air travel even more.
Story time! I’m going through security at the airport and notice a bad smell. I think it’s a baby that needs it’s diaper changed or something. But there weren’t really any babies in the line were my family was. My mom pointed out the direction it was coming from... I didn’t want to offend anyone but it was this middle aged lady, she had animal hair (probably dog or cat hair) all over her jacket, her hair was a mess (she was balding on top), and worst of all when we were supposed to take our shoes off, the corn chip smell coming from this woman’s feet... was unreal. I clenched my teeth and said in my head “please don’t let me sit next to her, please don’t let me sit next to her” I don’t know if she had adult diapers or something, but she obviously peed herself
Air Marshalls need to make more of a presence or Flight attendants need to have more power to do things about these people. Like identify who they are and have consequences ready at the gate, especially for parents and their crotch nuggets.
Whoa, what happened to #50? Or was the "Pap Smear Deal" a 2 for 1? Doesn't matter - this could be subtitled "Or, 50 good reasons to drive instead."
Since this never happened to me an honest question: If something like the feet/hair thing happened, could I call a steward/stewardess to put an end to it? There have to be rules, at least I hope so. Same for wearing a shirt... Really curious!
The women with plastic bags may be suffering from a panic attack. I'm claustrophobic and I can relate to that. Breathing from a bag leads you to a dizzy calm. Of course looks like an overkill...
Couple of questions, where the hell are the flight attendants and why aren’t they doing their job?! Also, you beat believe I would be making those passengers move their s**t, hair, feet, etc. If it was in my space!! No mercy
Yeah you know how those Germans are known for being inefficient and lazy, eh?
Load More Replies...Boohoo. Go catch some snowflakes. You are probably one of those ‘dirty feet on seats’ persons :D
