Vito, a 6-year-old ginger cat who lives in Italy, has become internet famous for his prosthetic hind legs. The adorable cat suffered a horrific accident that resulted in his two legs being amputated. However, after becoming the first cat in Italy to receive two prosthetic legs, Vito now enjoys a normal cat's life and is showered with attention online.
Vito's owners are former basketball player Silvia Gottardi and her wife Linda Ronzoni. The couple adopted the cat after Silvia's mother passed away and her father couldn't keep Vito when he started dating someone with a cat allergy.

In 2018, the pair got married and went on their honeymoon. Vito was left in the care of their friend when they were away. Then the tragic event happened. The cute cat, who is used to the outdoors, wandered off into the streets and got hit by a car. The terribly injured cat was found a day later and taken to the vet. However, Vito's chances of getting back to a normal life were slim. His rear paw was so badly wounded that it was immediately removed. The vet tried their best to save another rear leg but after it got too infected, it was amputated too.

Vito was provided with temporary 'legs' and later underwent the operation to be fitted with spring-loaded prosthetics with joints. While it took some time for him to get used to his new cat legs, eventually he got quite comfortable. Now, this cute cat is capable of doing things every cat does and is living his life to the fullest.

I have built myself a 3 room box fort. My mum calls me weird. I just shut the window. I never need to come out. I have bottles, a bar fridge, and a mattress. She took me to Bunnings for the boxes. Her fault! I’m 13

Lucky to find such a wonderful Vet !! Congratulations our vet killed our cat, haven't been able to bring myself to have ay more pets. Before when I had my pets alway two at a time for them to have company if in the house alone,. I've had 2 budgies, 2 squirrel monkeys 2 dogs 2 cats last ones at the same time, NOW none!

Leashes can be for cats and some of mine love them. Especially if you live in a not safe for cats neighborhood.

PLEASE please find a cat container or safety belt. A cat loose in the car can suffer terrible injuries, even with sudden breaking that does not hurt the humans at . 2- cat get under the brake pedal : with terrible consequences. 3 in a crash the cat becomes a loose projectile, causes injuries to the cat and maybe to the humans. .

Fantastic that the human servants could afford this. Bless these women. Lucky cat. nb; because of the nature of the solution this cat will be vulnerable to infections around the join sites. And will need special care to observe the sites carefully and constantly. Be bionic is not easy.

I was really hoping for a picture of that "one leg up in the air" butt-grooming pose so we could get a good look at how the prostheses are mounted.
