It happens to the best of us — parents, kids, college students, tenured professors, CEOs — and it happens to us all the time. Just because you have a successful career or a natural talent to achieve anything you want in life, it doesn’t mean you’re perfect. Because no one is immune to making mistakes. No one can avoid the occasional slip-ups. And no one is safe from messing up in life. It's a guarantee that cannot be escaped no matter how hard we try.

That's just the universe teaching us lessons over and over and over again until we finally listen. But in some unfortunate cases, they do tend to come in heavy and heartbreaking ways. "What’s the biggest mistake you’ve watched someone make in their personal life?" Redditor Ordinary-Ad5763 asked, and thousands of responses immediately started rolling in.

Below, we at Bored Panda have gathered some of the most honest, real, and painful stories from the thread, and they show that sometimes, the price for our errors is too high. Just to warn you, this thread may not be for the faintest of hearts. But turning a blind eye to these authentic accounts won't make life any brighter. So continue scrolling, upvote as you go, and if you're up for it, share your own experiences with us in the comments. Keep reading to also find our interview with psychologist Joshua Klapow, Ph.D., where we discuss how to best handle these situations on an emotional level.

Women are often dismissed when they complain about pain especially after having a baby. Sadly this is common. Sending so much love to OP, can’t imagine what you’ve been going through.

Another story why you should had any pain after major surgery checked by professional and if they say "that is completely normal" insist on second opinion or just quick MR check.

Agreed. I had chest pain about 4 weeks after my daughter was born. The nurses told me I was fine. A few days later I was in intensive care with a dvt blood clot.

After a severe leg injury from a car accident and walking on crutches for a couple months my (32f) leg/foot became severely swollen and nearly smurf blue. The pain got so bad as it was disregarded and ended up feeling like my leg was going to explode. It stopped strangers in their tracks it was so shocking to look at. However I was still passed around between an orthopedic surgeon and 3 vascular surgeons before being taken seriously and sent for a more in depth ultrasound where I was rushed to the ER upon finding a large DVT. The 2nd doctor literally poked at it, told me I was too young to be there and that swelling was normal for an injury like that and sent me on my way. I felt so defeated and tried to give up. But my mom found out and lost her cool and got me a 4th opinion which save my life. I still feel it 4 years later when I rest on that leg too long.

f**k... I just got over blood clots in my lungs a year ago, they only found it after my last each for cancer, they took one look at the MRI, and instead of telling me or my mom they put me in a wheelchair and ran me across the street on foot to the er, they got me there in less then 10 mins, they said if I had said 10/20 mins I would have been dead, I got took care of after being there 2 weeks and now I have to take blood thinners the rest of my life, it all started as one blood clot from my leg, thankfully it hit my lung instead of my hear {but it was just about to travel there}

Please, if you have leg pain, whether you are sedentary or not, but especiallly if you've had a surgery or are pregnant? Get the pain checked out immediately. Clots kill so often. And so unnecessarily. RIP, Clo.

People need to pay attention to what their body is telling them. I had already been through menopause and started to “spot”. Which I knew was not supposed to happen. Boyfriend is a car hauler, I was with him and we where in Utah. After we unloaded all our cars, I went to a walk in clinic. The doctor poked around, felt a lump. Ordered an MRI or whatever and sure enough I had a mass on my left ovary the size of a golf ball. Two weeks later I had a full hysterectomy. Who knows what would have happened if that thing had burst.

I have a friend who's little brother exists because of that. It is really messed up to begin with, but on top of that they have told him that they had him to try to save their marriage, and it still ended. Imagine what that does to a child's mind, to think that he wasn't enough to save it. Of course it wasn't his fault but he thought that a long time. Gladly he is doing better now but it took years of therapy and he is still not 100% okay. I really hate when people do this. Oh and sorry if i made spelling mistakes, not my first language ☺️

Whether it’s in our work environment or our relationships, every single one of us makes mistakes at some point. Life inevitably throws curveballs to give us valuable learning opportunities. They may hit us hard at first, but what matters more than any misstep or its magnitude is our response afterward.

To learn more about our tendency to make mistakes and how much of a toll they take on our emotional health, we reached out to Joshua Klapow, Ph.D., a psychologist and creator of Mental Drive. He started this well-being initiative to help people access the best-in-class psychological and performance tools to live healthier, more fulfilled, and successful lives.

"We are social beings," Klapow told Bored Panda. "We are hardwired to seek acceptance. When we do things that put us at risk of rejection, the natural emotional response is one of embarrassment, fear, stress, and frustration. This is who we are at the deepest levels."

The psychologist pointed out that when we make a mistake, it can be hard initially to accept it. "We may know intellectually that we have made an error but emotionally, we are triggered to figure out how to make that mistake not be a reality."

Some of the most common tactics we use to justify our actions are generating reasons why the mistake isn’t actually a mistake, reducing the magnitude of the mistake down to its smallest existence, and blaming the error on the action of others rather than ourselves. I hope the child is loved and not treated like a burden. We had a third child. My two kids were 8 and 10. He was very planned. What we didn't count on was him having a liver disease called Biliary Atresia. Then when he got older he was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 6. Fought the school because they wanted him out of their school. We don't know how long we have him for but he's going to be 20 yrs. old in January!!

At this point in human history, having a child serves no good purpose beyond catering to the vanity of foolish people. We are quite literally dying of children, which, in a bizarre self referential irony, includes those selfsame children. Meanwhile, we routinely condemn people who buy pets from breeders rather than adopt needy animals from shelters.

Forget the save part. Parents who keep popping out kids who can't afford them are a major problem - and what keeps the military meat grinder stocked. It's why RvW was overturned. They want poor people to keep having little soldiers with no future but the military.

My wife's best friend is a social worker. A few years ago, he did a couple of adoption home studies--go into someone's house and talk to them, to get a feel for if they'd be good parents or not. He said there were at least two occasions where, as soon as he walked in to the house/apt, it was abumdantly clear that only one person was there full-time, the other one either wasn't living there at all or had only just moved in. Upon careful questioning, turned out that the couple were having problems, and she (never he) decided that "having a baby/child would fix everything that's wrong in their relationship." Hard no from the social worker. It's not the kid's fault if Potential Parents have issues, and it's not the kid's responsibility to fix said issues.

As you can see from the examples in this list, sometimes living with our errors can be extremely hard. Not only do they damage our pride and self-confidence, but they can also turn into downright personal disasters and the biggest regrets we carry through life.

When asked what kind of toll these errors in judgment have on well-being, Klapow explained their impact on our mental state often depends on how we regard the mistake. "The interpretation can literally change the emotional impact of that mistake," he told us. "If we see mistakes as a chance to learn something, to gain insight, to have a way to do things differently next time, then the mistake has a far less negative impact."

Men like this can't find an age-mate because women his age can see how disgusting and manipulative he is, so he goes for young women whose brains aren't even mature. I so wish there was a way to tell younger women this and be believed, have them leave the manipulator, and make sure everyone is warned just how much a predator he is. DIE ALONE, creep.

If this was stateside he could/should be facing jail time - in almost all jurisdictions it's a crime for high school teachers to have sex with students - even if they are 18. I'm not sure it constitutes a "sex crime" if the student is over 18 but it's definitely still illegal in most places.

The stock market being a casino, playing cards based on the position of the stars is only slightly sillier than the rest of the game. The periodic ruin of those who invest in the stock market is a guaranteed part of the system, just as it is in Las Vegas. These are, after all, systems that exist to profit the few at the expense of the many.

Well, we’ve heard a million times that every mistake is a lesson to be learned: they are "a portal to learning, growth, and mastery." It's safe to say that facing our blunders is hard and often scary, but making them can be beneficial. It all depends on the perspective.

The healthiest way to tackle mistakes, as Klapow mentioned, is to look at our behaviors whenever we stumble and fall, take notes, and accept this learning opportunity. If we take action and make sure we’re not constantly beating ourselves up about it, we come out as stronger and more resilient human beings.

But how often do we see them as growing experiences? While this varies from person to person, some people refuse to accept reality and get tangled in their failures, unable to continue with their lives.

I had a friend who met a guy online and they had a long distance relationship for a while. They talked on the phone for hours on end. Then her parents (she lived at home, but was 19) got their (landline) phone bill and freaked out because it was like $800. She didn’t have enough with her minimum wage job to pay it right then, so her guy sent her money to help cover it. Then his family heard this and assumed she was some sort of scammer or catfish. Thankfully it all got set straight. The two of them ended up getting married and are still together ten years later. It’s one of the rare instances where it turned out to be genuine.

Seems like for some people being scammed is like a drug: even if others tell them it is fake - once in a life time feeling thoroughly beguiled, gets them on such a high, that they find it hard to let go. And it´s not like people wouldn´t spend lots of money on things that are fake, though not a scam (sex for money, cam girls)... . But delusion and the wake up are usually far less hard in these cases...

A few months ago my disabled cousin excitedly told us he was going to the another country to meet his online girlfriend. We were more concerned the more we learned and were so happy when the passport office made a printing error on his passport so he had to wait for a new one. After asking the difficult questions (things he should know about her before meeting her, etc) to the practical (has he been learning to read and speak the language of the area), he has decided not to go. Apparently when he said he was coming to visit instead of sending (possibly more?) money, she got awkward and stopped talking to him. I'm all for online relationships and every human should feel love, but those who pray on others desire to be loved deserve very unfortunate happenings in their own lives.

Crypto is a mass psychosis pump and dump. It cannot fulfill the role of currency better than fiat currency because there is no entity that has the power to compel its acceptance among society. (currency's purpose is the universal medium of exchange NOT a store of value.). And when there are 800+ "commercial grade" cryptos available and all somebody has to do is hit the "fork" button on GitHub - its problem is only getting larger. And then there is the whole problem of whales who can artificially mess with its value thereby defeating the crypto-evangelists tired old message of "no singular point of control." It was a noble idea but now it's just a game of hot potato.

I knew right away crypto was a bad idea. It was presented as a commodity, rather than currency. It had no trade value relative to goods and services. Its value is always compared to actual fiat currency.

"If we continually make mistakes, don’t see them as a learning opportunity, or are in a position where we are not able to ever succeed, our self-confidence takes a significant beating," Klapow added. To move forward from this emotional state, the creator of Mental Drive offered these suggestions:

    • Find meaning in the mistake from a learning perspective
    • Recognize and remind yourself that perfection is not how people live or grow
    • Evaluate the mistakes relative to other mistakes you have made so that each mistake is not seen as "the worst", and learn that mistakes are frequent and not always catastrophic.

I don't know what changed him exactly, but he started calling himself an alpha male, and questioning any activity, clothing choice, type of car, career path, drink, etc as alpha or not. He bulked up and got large muscles but also still carries a beer gut. He tries to have his shirt off whenever possible, but it doesn't work for his body type. The constant seeking for assurances that something is alpha or not got tiring, or being told something someone was doing is beta behavior when I didn't have any interest or care made me stop hanging out. Of course, he now calls me a beta for not being alpha enough to hang out with him.

I used to be a grocery cashier. While I still had that job, on my day off I was shopping elsewhere. I ran into a guy who used to work at the grocery store, in a different department. I hadn't seen him in a while. Turned out that, on *his* day off, he thought it'd be a good idea to get drunk and high. His bosses at the grocery store called him up to ask if he'd like an extra shift. He said, "Sure!" and promptly dashed off to the store. Imagine his surprise when they could immediately tell he was drunk and high (his behavior, plus he was reeking of weed), and promptly fired him. If only he'd said "No" when they asked if he wanted the extra shift that day...

Cannabis can remain detectable for up to 60 days in urine at a low enough detection threshold. Depending on the test. Stupidly most harder drugs move through your system much faster, leading to higher use of those drugs instead in companies that regularly test employees. Fort McMurray Canada tests almost everyone regularly and has the worst drug problems in this country. 😑 blood testing reverses the relationship making it easier to test for harder drugs but is much more expensive. Finally neither method has statistically shown to reduce drug use or workplace injury rates rendering it pointless and punitive

But this does beg the question, can hearing about the blunders others made help us avoid the same mistakes in our personal lives? "Because mistakes have an automatic and deep emotional impact, we have a tendency to think that we are the only ones who make them," the psychologist said.

"Seeing other people in the same situation making the same mistakes helps us to reality test, helps us feel not as bad or alone in the mistake, and often helps us see someone else taking a mistaken action that we then can learn not to take when a similar situation arises," Klapow concluded.

Used to work security at a concert venue. Big enough place to require a couple cops outside the front door for insurance purposes. Had to ask someone to leave for drinking underage. He got mouthy on the way out and started to fight me. Was near the front door and the cops jumped in to help. He punched the cop and his nose bled. Went from a “hey man, don’t drink underage in here next time you come back” to a Felony.

It appears that the "average" IQ is getting lower and lower. Having said that, however, an underage drinker can't handle much alcohol, so, especially with a male, being mouthy and rowdy isn't much a surprise. Just his bad luck to give a cop a nosebleed. LOL!

Sadly happened with my older brother. The lassie was toxic and had him completely under her thumb to the point where one day I basically told her to shut up and she ordered him to beat me up, I stood and took every punch he threw until he was knackered enough that a simple push knocked him on his back. Once he was down I calmly walked towards her and told her to pick him up and leave whilst telling her straight if I ever saw her again I was going to break her jaw which since she knew I would do it with a happy smile on my face I never saw her again(all it cost me was three cracked ribs, but It was a price I was happy to pay) and thankfully they broke up about two months later.

Social security is the protection that a society provides to individuals and households to ensure access to health care and to guarantee income security, particularly in cases of old age, unemployment, sickness, invalidity, work injury, maternity or loss of a breadwinner. It is sad how many countries tie access to this fundamental part of empathetic society to meeting thresholds of participation or time or proof. We know that we consistently spend far more on enforcement than we do on inappropriate payments, and that those who will exploit society won't stop just because we catch them once but the single mom whose husband died but who filled in the form late will be the one to suffer.

Worked several small businesses that paid cash. Their reasoning, you get more money since you don't pay taxes. What it means was they didn't have to pay payroll tax. They saved money, and I am on food stamps and Medicaid because of low Social Security payment.

This works for some people, and for them I am very happy! But growing up in a heavily religious area, it is very common for people to get married young and fast, and divorce a few years later. My brother got married after only a few months of dating and they got pregnant a month later after the wedding. They are broke 20 year old college students with no insurance in the USA. To have baby at the hospital without insurance can start at 20k.Sometimes it is best to wait.

I moved countries with my boyfriend (now husband) after less than 6 months, 17 years later still happily married. There's been moves across countries and between countries but never been happier. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't but holding off for a prescribed time doesn't change it.

You never know! My parents married after knowing each other for less than two weeks, and immediately bought a house together. Still together 43+ years later! Yet waited four years after marriage (to make sure it'd work out) before having kids. My twin sister dated her high school sweetheart for around ten years before marrying him, and their marriage only lasted around ten years! Edit: changed 35+ to 43+, hard to admit I'm almost 40 lol

I have two: 1. Took a loan out to go on a European vacation. 2. Took a loan out to pay for rent. Now this one is bad because it wasn’t because they needed a place to live, it’s that they wanted a really nice place to live and they have a so called “ certain standard of living”. They could have afforded a nice small house here to rent but instead she wanted a gigantic house in a wealthier neighborhood to rent. It’s the same person.

As much as my first reaction was shock and who the hell does that? My second was, that loan won’t be much different then using a credit card…it’s gonna have about the same or more interest. And vacations being paid for on a credit card is extremely common…I’ve heard off cases fo rent but not so much. Which made it a lot less shocking and surprising.

35 People Share The Dumbest And Most Expensive Mistakes They've Seen Others Make My brother ran for public office without having an agenda. He had no leadership qualifications, background in position, or support from anyone in the community. His took out a 10K personal loan to finance his political run and held one fundraiser where most of the attendees were family and couldn't vote for him. He lost badly, coming in last behind four other candidates. It took him years to pay back the loan and refill his savings, which he completely drained to pay for signage and flyers. Saddest of all, the printer misspelled his name on both items, so any remnant is a harsh reminder of how badly things went.

I see this far too often and they are voted into office and make a huge mess of things. I have seen candidates who were completely unqualified run to fix something that was not possible from that office. It was under the jurisdiction of another city or whatever. They did not research what the job responsibilities actually were. Or they wanted to run for school board that controls the superintendent on down and millions of dollars with no degree or education background what so ever because their kid goes to that district. Every teacher in the district was more qualified. And very qualified people not win for lack of financial support. 5-20$ ya'll. It all adds up and you will benefit with a good person in office. I have a nonprofit that helps middle class get elected. You are the HR person for your state. Vote for and support the person with the best education/work background for that job. Don't put a dance instructor on a state level military budget committee! ---seen that too.

The girl blew about roughly the same in about a year but had gotten pregnant and actually got sober and turned her life around. Both of them inherited money from a parent dieing so grief definitely added to the drug use; addiction is a horrible disease and grief worsens it so much.

35 People Share The Dumbest And Most Expensive Mistakes They've Seen Others Make My sister owned a home with her husband and first child. Her father-in-law convinced them that if they sold their house and became live-in caretakers for some old relative of his that he would leave his supposedly nice house in Austin to them. They'd get to live rent free at this house, it would be theirs outright when he dies, and they'd be set. So they sell their house, move to Austin where they don't have jobs and move in with this guy. And it's absolute chaos. Guy is constantly watching porn on the living room tv with their toddler around, doing inappropriate old guy stuff, telling them what they can and cannot do in the house and when they can come and go. It's a freaking nightmare. They end up leaving the house, and getting their own place. They also eventually moved to another state for a few years and came back. They've never been able to buy another house since housing prices have gone way up and they didn't have enough equity on their other house that they sold, so they've been bouncing from [bad] apartment to [bad] apartment ever since.

The family for not demanding the father write a will and give them copies, so they could see that the house had been deeded to them. Moving without jobs. Please don't take loans for a wedding. Just go get registered to make it legal. On the way home get some wine and take-out and have a great evening, maybe invite some close friends to celebrate. You don't need a wedding for it to be real or important.

He robbed the corner store less than a mile from his house. He was in full SWAT gear with a tactical mask. Everyone knew exactly who it was, there were 8 calls to Crime Stoppers identifying him. He was arrested within 3 hours of the crime with the still loaded pistol in his car. If he had used a fake gun, or an unloaded pistol he would have gotten 1/2 or 1/4 the prison sentence. I have a cheapskate uncle that spent his life saving into a junk bond, compounding the interest, putting all his income in and living like an absolute beggar, even as he became a millionaire. You might be thinking to yourself "nothing wrong with frugality". No it is more than that, he used to come to my parent's house, spend the entire day eating our food, and not leaving before my mother packed him more food for the week for free(my mom's fault for not setting harder boundaries too). Anyway after all that, the sum hit 1.2 mill or so and then the junk bond went bust, and he lost all his money at 70 years of age. The man was making around 10k a month at the height of it, and spending at most 300$ a month. Remember to invest in your relationships and your goodwill folks!

My uncle brags about his watches and money. Says it's so hard that he has so much money that he HAS to take out a certain amount. He insulted my dad before he died. Has never helped a family member for nothing. For yr's he has said he would leave my aunt all of his money. She always invited him to her house. Well he got mad at her and is now leaving all his money and house to these neighbors who have two young boys. They bring him a plate of food every day. When my son was born he gave a gift. Well he left a dime in the bag. So on the thank you note I taped that dime. I wrote that he had left it in the bag. He has never been married. All he does is insult people. He would not help my Aunt get heart medicine she couldn't afford. I would rather be poor then to have money if this is what it does to people.

A guy I grew up with got a $250,000 settlement from a car accident that resulted in his moms death. Kid was 19 when it happened. In ONE year he spent all of it. Constantly had 20 criminals staying in his house, got a lot of it stolen, spent a lot on drugs, bought a lawn business that went under because he hired his lazy criminal friends. Last time I saw him he looked homeless and was sitting outside the corner store by my moms house. He deserved every bit of it, a year before this happened he broke into my parents house and stole all my moms jewelry.

When my grandmother died, my grandfather has about 15,000 dollars left over to live off of until he could no longer afford his house. My cousin heard that Grandpa had money, so he would ask Grandpa for “gas money” all the time, then go and blow it on drugs. Over the course of one year, he convinced granpa to give him 12,000 of the 15,000 that Grandpa had left. Once Grandpa realized what was going on, he stopped giving my cousin money, and because he could no longer pay his dealers, he got beat half to death and then dumped on the side of the road. If someone hadn’t found him in time, he might not be here anymore.

A family member is notoriously awful at financial decisions and is obsessed with get rich quick schemes. He's the best example of why rich parents should never, ever give a 20 year old kid everything he could want. His formative years taught him that money was easy come, easy go and he never learned the value of researching before you buy or saving money. He bought crypto miners AFTER cyphers changed and it only cost him far more money to run them than he could ever make off of them. He was given a condo and a house and sold both for less than he could have gotten had he been patient. After each property sale, he went on a spending spree, buying a side-by-side, a toy hauler, and all the toys to go in it. He once traded in 3 vehicles for one used vehicle, still financed $30k, and the engine s**t out within the first year he had it. He spent $25k on a 25 year old Hummer that needed everything in it replaced. It needed new tires, transmission before he could even drive it down the road. It likely cost him close to $40-50k before he traded it in on another terrible deal for a different used vehicle that also died in him within two years. He once bought 13 acres of land that turned out to be a literal swamp in protected marsh lands. He thought he was going to farm the land and be a homesteader despite having never worked on a farm. He scoured RedFin looking for homes with 10+ acres that were also $300k. He bought the first one that met both criteria despite family warning him against that property. He registered it as a homestead and in doing so painted himself into a corner real-estate wise because that state has a stipulation that grant money used for a down payment on a homestead could not be sold for 2-3 years after purchasing it. He hates working and kept getting fired, the house nearly went into foreclosure. Had to sell all the toys and the toy hauler to avoid foreclosure. I also need to add that he moved out there first and got an apartment so he and his wife could look for homes later. In less than a month, he bought the house without even consulting his wife who angrily cried when she saw the awful place for the first time. (Built I'm the 70's, NO UPDATES.) He told her they'd build additions onto the house, thinking they were only $10k to add a room. She has to pack up a 4 bedroom house and move cross country with two little kids while this a*****e bought the first swamp someone fleeced him into. His latest magic trick involved investing nearly $100,000 of his $300,000 inheritance in crypto a year ago. Big, astronomic oof. Poof, it disappeared. So did the free money from his family after the passing of his grandmother who doled out all of her wealth to her kids. Their family of 4 is currently living out of an RV. No idea what happened to the rest of the money, but I imagine it's gone.

We had a neighbor who was a widow. My dad would go over and sweep out the basement when it flooded. He would paint windows sills as she needed. He always said you can pay me when you get the money. Well the neighbor across the street married the niece of the widow. My dad would still go over and help as needed. They wouldn't but he did. The neighbors across the street and they aunt were only a duplex from each other. Well she had cleaned up her file cabinet so it would be easy for her family when she died. Well she passed and left the niece $100,000. My dad...nothing. The niece and her husband bought cars and clothes and went on a few vacation's. She died and they only had 1 kid. The husband died a few years later. I used to babysit their kid from 1wk old to 5 or 6. When he died we got his computer and he was writing letter's because he was completely broke.

How can a man be "baby-trapped"? You mean he simply decided that he didn't care whether he will cause the pregnancy or not?

Seen woman baby-trapping guy that didn’t love her (she was even lying baby is his). He married her out of “duty”, then she continued abuse and terrorising him with “you will not see child if you leave me”. Guy committed suicide. Now she’s jobless widow and cannot find real father.

My dad quit an $80,000 a year job in solidarity with his department after the department was dissolved and they were all given notice. My dad would have still had a job at that same salary but he felt loyal to his work family so he gave notice. So, my parents used up all their savings, lost their house and went into bankruptcy, I guess for the principle of the thing?

Standing up for principles even if it affects others can take courage. Those protesting against hair-covering in Iran - protesting in some countries can be dangerous for your famimly. Where to draw the line? I hope life will find a way so your parents can live without worries, AND a clean conscience.

You can do that if it only affects you but pulling your family into it is shitty

Still, sometimes you need to do the right thing, based on how you see it. Pride ain't always successful, but when you go, you want to have your head held high. Just how I see it personally, not for everyone.

Oh f**k you. It's absolutely the right thing to plunge his family, his children into poverty, right? F**k you.

It maybe he would have been the next to get canned anyway. During rounds of firings at a company (timed so they didn’t qualify as layoffs), I got a huge raise. It lasted only months before the rest of us were let go.

Hoarding. I have a friend who jammed her condo so full of useless s**t she bought and bought and bought. The pace is 1500 sq ft but she only has about 6 sq ft of space to live. It's frightening.

Hoarding isn't really a decision people make, it's a recognised mental disorder than can be treated with time and patience.

That is a difficult mental illness to deal with. My grandmother was kind of a food hoarder due to the Great Depression and my mom continued the habit. So do I but to a lesser degree. My dad buys not enough food which I don't get because his parents were rich with a normal amount of food. At least I won't have kids who will need to unlearn my bad habits.

Have a child with someone who fights them on their parenting style- also cheated on my friend who was 8 months pregnant. They just got married too.
