Netizens had similar sentiments at the time about the pre-teen’s outfit.

“She’s not a grown-up, she’s 12 years old, she’s a beautiful child. But the dress is way too mature for a child to be wearing,” one said.

I kinda don't see how it is inappropriate ? I mean, when I was her age I would have killed for a dress like that. And yes she has breasts, but so do thousands of girls her age and even younger ?

It is inappropriate to dress an adolescent as an adult. Especially young girls. And doubly because of the den of iniquity in which she lives. And for those saying she looks like Be… no. She looks like her daddy. Poor child.

I think she looks amazing. She is blossoming into a beautiful young girl and dresses elegantly and respectfully. She is not showing off inappropriate amounts of skin and her behaviour in public is a nod to her parents. Yes she is tall for her age and looks older, but the WORLD knows how old she is, so it is not like she is lying to anyone. All I see are jealous Karen's who wish they could have her life. Grow up. I also have a beautiful daughter who wears elegant dresses. She does dance competitions and is very popular in school.... wanna have a cry about it?

I don't understand what's inappropriate about this dress? Her shoulders? That's all you can see!! Are people saying it's inappropriate actually body shaming her for having breasts? That is the only conclusion I can come to.

Paedophilia is quite rightly reviled, but people seem to forget that there's a huge difference between finding a 13 year old girl attractive and wanting to have s,e,x with them. Demanding that they dress like children to avoid looking "sexy" is like blaming a rape victim for dressing provocatively. And anyway, it would not work - someone sexually interested in children doesn't want them to dress like an adult in the first place,

Ace, there is a vast difference between an adult woman dressing provocatively and a minor child dressing provocatively. Even though it is still fully legal for the child to dress provocatively, one hopes and perhaps expects that the adults in their life would attempt to help protect them from harm, which could include ensuring that they do not appear publicly dressed provocatively/revealingly. While you are correct that it is neither thought nor intention that we prosecute for, but for actual acts, it is still quite repellant to suggest that it is perfectly fine for a minor child to be dressed provocatively and that it is also apparently perfectly fine to find said child attractive, as long as one does not engage in sexual acts with them. I also find it interesting that you seem to know what a pedophile apparently does - or doesn't - want their victims to dress up as.

Didn’t we used to dress all 4-99 yr old high class/reuch/royal women like this over 80yrs ago and throughout all of history 😂 the concept of dressing like a child, the way we see it is very recent. I like the dresses and I don’t care, I don’t know why. But to me it’s a girl wearing her dream dress and she can afford it and has somewhere to actually wear it too

Uh, no. You wouldn't have seen most adult woman showing the tops of their breasts and their cleavage like this in the 1940s, let alone a 13-year-old girl. In no way would a woman from that time period dress like this, not even a "royal" one.
