Pets are our best companions and family members, but the time comes when we have to say goodbye to them. Losing a beloved pet can be absolutely devastating. Hopefully, anyone who has to go through with it has the best support they need. Playwright Claire Willett showed that she has the most sympathetic co-workers ever, after they tried to help her get through the loss of her betta fish. However, it all resulted in a big laugh.

When someone on Twitter asked people to ‘tell about the time you laughed so hard you cried’ Claire decided to share this story. “I used to work for a theatre company that had done a fundraising gala themed around a play called “Metamorphoses” by Mary Zimmerman, which is an adaptation of a bunch of Greek myths where the stage set is all a big pool full of water. So for the gala, they had centerpieces at each table with live beta fish in them, and then afterward the staff got to keep the fish if they wanted. A bunch of us took them home, and my ” she told Bored Panda. “I left that job to take a new position at a school district, and I brought Leonard Cohen with me to that new job, and he got sick very shortly after (maybe fish hate change). ”
Only a month after she started her new job, her beloved fish passed away. Claire was absolutely heartbroken, so her co-workers decided to hold the funeral for the fish. How can a fish funeral be hilarious? Well, you’ll have to scroll down to find out!

At first, I was thinking, "This is actually sort of sad", but when the person in the next stall came in, I died XD. Can't believe I didn't see it coming, lol.

"How can a fish funeral be hilarious" was not a mystery to me. Honestly I was surprised at the fact that they kept it totally solemn until the last moment.

I totally understand this. When I was in the hospital(click on my name to read the story) I got lots of roses. (I love pink/white roses) but I was there so long that they started to die. I got emotionally attached to a blueish pink rose. It died and I was devastated. I was so hoped up on pain meds that I literally thought that since the rose died, the "fairy would stop visiting and not leave me any cookies... "
