It's easy to dwell on bitterness after someone wrongs you. But we must be careful not to drown in all that negativity. Instead, we should focus on channeling our energy into growth, which is a much healthier and more fulfilling response to adversity.
Dedicating ourselves to the pursuit of our goals during challenging times not only uplifts our spirits but also demonstrates resilience and character. Of course, that's easier said than done. But many still manage to pull through, so let's take a look at their inspiring achievements.
Reddit user Fronzie7 asked everyone on the platform, "Frank Sinatra said, 'The best revenge is massive success.' What's a real-life example of this?" Their post has since gone viral and now has over 2.2K comments. Here are the most memorable ones.

Brendan Fraser getting the Oscar this year after being black listed from Hollywood for over a decade for speaking out about being sexually assaulted.
I wish I knew who did this to him and hurt him like that and their name. That’s was probably what caused his bad depression all these years. Men actors do get sexually assaulted as well, not just the women. Glad he had enough courage and strength to come out to talk about what happen to him, even if it caused him to be shunned in hollyweird. These powerful people in hollyweird are child predators and adult predators. They have ruined so many lives because of it. Brittany spears, shia lebouf, Lindsey lohan and on and on and on. A lot turn to drinking and alcohol to ease their pain and shame, it’s not their fault for what was done to them. It’s time these horrible people start being exposed for what they do to children and adults. It’s time to start naming names and take away their power to not hurt anyone ever again. Hollywood should be taken down ,which I believe is burning down. It is a horrible dark place to be in if you only knew the horrors of it.
What a bunch of hypocrites! So, he reveals and is not believed; meanwhile the "Me, too" movement starts and every woman is to believed, but he is ignored and left in the dust? Unbelievable
Ten years ago everyone, men and women alike, who spoke up was ignored -_-
Load More Replies...He spoke about 2018 so that couldn't be the reason for a decade long blacklisting.
Ron McNair had the police called on him when he was little because he was black and reading in a library. He grew up to be an astronaut and the library he was kicked out of was later named after him.
So, is he allowed in the library that's named after him?
He was killed when Space Shuttle Challenger exploded.
Load More Replies...I was working at NASA Ames Research Center on the day of Astronaut Ron McNair's death along with the rest of the Challenger Shuttle crew. I recalled that about five thousand people were working at ARC that day. The entire complex was so extremely quiet. You could hear a pin drop no matter where you were that day. Profound loss of seven extremely brilliant human beings.
But the children's book that was written about him (Ron's Big Mission) is now a banned book in many school districts. Teachers actually get in trouble for reading it because it teaches the truth that segregation was/is wrong and people should be treated equally.
Hang in there! It will get worse before it gets better, but it WILL get better. Even in Texas.
Load More Replies...I hope they have a plaque up in the library "Named in honor of Ron McNair, who had police called on him here for reading in a public library while black."
Blowing up on Challenger - not as awesome as it sounds.
Load More Replies...He was allowed in the library. He wasn't allowed to remove books out of the library or to have a library card bc Blacks were not considered responsible enough. He refused to leave without a library card, hence police. But he did get one after his protest. There's a wonderful children's picture book about this incident. Ron's Big Mission by Rose Blue
We managed to get in touch with Fronzie7, and they agreed to have a little chat with us about the thread they started. "I got the inspiration for this post while browsing r/AskReddit," they told Bored Panda.
As the replies poured in, Fronzie7 started recognizing a few recurring themes, but "most of the stories involved romantic relationships."
My mom. She, like the rest of her family, were all dirt poor. For them, it was traditional that they wouldn't go to college and would instead focus on finding a decent at best job as quickly as possible while also getting married and starting families young.
My mom was different. She decided instead to go to college and while she did drink on occasion, she stayed clear of the drugs that had ruined so many of her cousins lives. She told me that her entire family looked down on her and said that she was wasting her time. Well now she is currently the only one who owns a house and has a stable, well paying career. My generation of cousins saw her success and are now following in her footsteps.
What a great role model, breaking a generation mold is not an easy path. I'm glad that she has inspired the next generation to keep working towards their futures.
and then her parents and other relatives came and demanded money, which she denied, right?
My dad did this. Came from a family with addiction and alcoholism. They always said he must have thought he was better than them for going to college and we never had much contact with that side. I'm proud of him and the life he gave us. If I have a boy in the near future, I'm naming him after my dad.
They were probably embarrassed of their own life course and jealous that he had the strength to break free from it.
Load More Replies...My mom's been preaching healthy living and eating since before it was trendy. Her whole family always thought she was weird. Today she's the only sibling who's healthy and alive... It's so sad though having to go through life, scorned because of the choices you make, only to have the world prove you were on the right track... My mom is awesome. ❤️
Her cousins are probably all bitter and jealous because she's doing better than they are and assumes that she thinks she's better than them; I've seen that before.
Remember, toxic families is like a barrel of crabs. If you're going up or doing something different they wanna pull you down so you're all doing the same
Tina Turner. She got away from an abusive husband with virtually no assets and went on to become a solo superstar!
She got out of that marriage with the clothes on her back. Now she will always be remembered as the Queen of Rock while Ike is remembered as the abusive POS who beat up Tina.
All she wanted from divorce was too keep her last name Turner! Absolute legend! RIP Tina.
We Don't Need Another Hero, but we wish you were still One Of The Living. God smile on your soul, Aunty Entity.
pretty sure her amazing voice can be considered an asset and she herself considered her legs such an asset she had them insured for a couple mill
With killer legs like those, she was being conservative. I mean, DA-A-A-A-NG!
Load More Replies...Actually her real name was Anna Mae and she was already headlining in Vegas and nominated for Grammys while Ike was continuing to beat the heck out of her, who had also renamed her "Tina" for her solo music career. But eventually she shed his a*s after being beaten in public.
I know it's not what traditionally fits the definition, but I would say that her voice, her talent and her ambition were some of the greatest assets to be had.
She still did not have her problems to seek and although financially stable was left with the personal aftermath for the rest of her life like so many in this situation. But, as they say, better to be 'crying in a Mercedes' and of course she no longer had to contend with daily physical and mental abuse..
Italian industrialist, builder of tractors, made a mint out of it and rewarded himself with a new Ferrari.
Ferrari broke down. Needed a new clutch. Wealthy industrialist waited patiently for his new clutch to arrive, and after many weeks it finally showed up - same clutch he was putting in his tractors, more than twice the price.
A little bit annoyed at this, he rang Ferrari to complain. They told him "go back to building tractors, leave supercars to us."
And Lamborghini was born...
even more unpopular opinion: i don't get how a car is a thing to be liked/aesthetically pleasing
Load More Replies...I like the cars but I don't really like the supercar arms race. Just make a cool looking car that is drivable and usable by real humans. They don't need to be capable of 300+ km/hr and 0-100 in 3 seconds.
Has any Italian car maker yet learned of the concept of 'rustproofing'?
And now Lamborghini is just as if not more expensive than ferrari. How about a super car people can afford that would be a true miracle of engineering.
Only to follow in the exact footsteps of Ferrari, with poor build quality but with the added benefit of poor paint quality as well

However, while the need for revenge can be understandable, experts say it doesn't bring us any good.
"It's not healthy, but like many other human needs, it's also normal," said Harold Takooshian, professor of psychology at Fordham University in New York.
"Like hate, revenge is something that takes a toll on the person who feels wronged, as well as the [person's] enemy. It is inherently unhealthy because it takes a psychological and physical toll on the person. Venting those feelings of anger and hostility does not decrease those feelings," he explained.
"It may give you a cathartic feeling, but it doesn't last."
When Lady GaGa was in college, some of her classmates had a Facebook group called "Stefani Germanotta, you'll never be famous".
Pretty sure she proved them wrong.
They are probably bragging that they went to school with Lady Gaga.

She'll always be Mother Monster to me, but I'm so proud and elated for how far she has come. And watching her sing at the Biden inauguration brought tears to my eyes!
Michael J.Fox has a great story about when he started out. Some big wheel at the network didn't like him for the role of Alex P. Keaton on Family Ties. He was too short, not cute, not heart throb enough, you're never going to see his face on a lunch box. But the producer cast him anyway and the show shot to number one and stayed there.
Fox sent him a Family Ties lunch box with his face on it and then Back to the Future 1,2,3 lunch boxes.
From my hometown. We have always been proud but he just keeps on making us. Just found out Jason Priestley knacked Weinstein years ago too. Seemingly unrelated directly to his catalogue of sexual assault, but I figure he knew one when he saw one.

Im graduating from grad school.in August. With a specialty in helping special Ed kids

Yes, that is the whole point of the whole list.
Load More Replies...This was my husband as well. His first day of kindergarten he got in trouble for coloring a monkey and banana the 'wrong' colors. He holds onto that to this day - choose your words to children carefully! Through high school he had various learning issues and was repeatedly told he would be nothing. Went on to get a Masters in Fine Arts and taught University because ONE teacher took the time to bother to see that he learned differently and was a skilled artist. Had pieces in the National Gallery before he was 40. Has a conventional day job now, but the 'wrong' kid that would amount to nothing lived his dream despite what he was told his whole life.
THANK YOU for sharing your talent and compassion with students. You have many options for a career, and we appreciate that you have chosen Education. Keep up the great attitude.
As a special Ed teacher, I can not imagine any teacher saying such things to or about a student. Horrible.,
For the most part, Fronzie7 agrees with this. "I think that revenge isn't always the best motivation," the Redditor said.
"In my opinion, it's better to simply focus on yourself, and it'll eventually still prove others wrong."
John Gurdon was sent home from school with a report card , and on that report card was a note to his parents from the headmaster pleading with them to not let him go into the science field to waste anyone's time. “Several times he has been in trouble, because he will not listen, but will insist on doing his work in his own way. I believe he has ideas about becoming a Scientist; on his present showing this is quite ridiculous. It would be a sheer waste of time, both on his part and of those who have to teach him.” is what the report card said. Today, That report card is the only thing he has framed in his office, which is in a building that is now been named after him, after the many contributions to nuclear transplantation and cloning. He also has a nobel prize. Also he has been knighted. He has received many honors and awards in addition....... And the only thing he has framed is that report card telling him not to waste anyone's time by trying science.
"...doing his own work in his own way..." Key traits for the inquisitive mind of a scientist.
Thats actual learning, not many schools will encourage that unfortunately, even today.
Load More Replies...I scrolled past that picture too quickly and kept expecting this to turn into a story about Hugh Heffner. XD
Typical. Another cog in the machine trying to force more people to be cogs to justify their own existence.
Never heard of him. But good for him. I think they did the same kind of thing to Einstein.
A very personal one. My ex was very abusive. He tried to get me to think I "am not mentally capable" of living without him (I'm disabled, but I always tested at a genius level and did decently well at work and school). So now he's gone, and I'm furthering my career and absolutely thriving.
Listen I don't believe in intelligence tests or anything like that but I DO believe in determination self confidence and self worth so this is awesome
How exactly does one "test at a genius level"? Any time someone says things like that I just assume they are bragging/making it up. Not to diminish the achievement of this person - they should be proud of themselves.
You know what they say about assuming. Maybe if you were genuis level you'd know how they test for it 😂

The guy who invented Ring cameras went on Shark Tank and was rejected by everyone. They all thought it would fail….we’ll you know the rest
What's the rest? Oh, wait, hang on while I switch screens to see who is at the door...😉
Hard to believe they didn't see the value in a doorbell camera. It's a fantastic idea.
And a security nightmare and the agencies wet dream.
Load More Replies...There are lots of products that succeed despite not getting a deal with the sharks. Just having the opportunity to showcase it on TV is often all they need to gain interest.
I have not seen comments about doorbell cameras for people who are hearing impaired. I bought one when my hearing dog died. My watch vibrates and shows me a picture when someone comes to the door. Even with hearing aids, I cannot hear doorbells. Without hearing aids, I cannot hear fire trucks or jet planes.
All of my neighbors have them. I am being recorded while I shovel my driveway, or mow my lawn, or whenever I go outside, or whenever I pull into my driveway. I understand being recorded when I'm in public, but it sure seems like a violation of my privacy when I'm in my yard. "But they only record when triggered by movement." Sure... just like Alexa only "listens" when prompted.
What nefarious act do you think they are doing with footage of you? I can’t imagine them caring enough to be watching all of that. All they need to do is look out their windows, anyway. They don’t need a camera to watch you mow your lawn. Now if they have it aimed at your backyard or could see in your windows, that would be creepy af.
Load More Replies...I remember that and I remember saying, "I'd but that". Now I have one.
So how does someone cope with a burning desire for revenge? The first, and arguably most important, step is taking responsibility for your emotions.
By entertaining the need to hurt somebody, you're actually hurting yourself. You're allowing yourself to be hurt twice, physically and emotionally.
So it's probably best to try and let go of those feelings and seek other ways to deal with your emotions.
George Lucas got the ownership of the toy rights to star wars because they don’t think it would be successful. He made an absolute killing on those.
My friend's brother had tons of the original toys, boxed and in mint condition. In '95, he sold them, because it had been nearly 20 years, and Star Wars wasn't coming back. The next year, Lucas re-released A New Hope. Mitch is still kicking himself over that.
They'd be even more valuable nowadays... ouch, indeed.
Load More Replies...Alec Guinness' Star Wars contract stipulated that he would receive a tiny percentage of any money Lucas made from the film. He received over six million dollars.
We still have all the original toys they sold in the 80's. I wanted to sell them but my dad insists that our kids might want them some day. I'm not so sure about that, but I suppose they'll only gain value the longer we keep them.
“Merchandising! Merchandising is where the real money from the movie is made” ~Yogurt
Merchandising merchandising merchandising!!! This is why there's a spoof about toys in Spaceballs
The fact is, he basically created the 'movie merchandising concept' from the get-go, and a huge amount of his fortune came from little dolls in packages. Like, more than the original series generated in box-office. Disney followed suit with all their own version, but it wasn't a big business until SW did it.
He offered the actors 10% of the merchandising rights on their characters in lieu of payment (Baker and Daniels definitely) but as jobbing actors they wanted cash in hand, in hindsight they both said they'd have been millionaires if they taken it but when you don't know where your next paycheck is coming from you take what you can.
He made so much money from the merchandise, he was able to fund the second and third films himself and lease them to 20th Century.
Sylvester Stallone as well. Casting agents told him he was too stupid looking and he'd only get small roles as the thug who got beaten up. He said he literally went to every casting agent in NYC and got rejected by all of them.
Even after he wrote Rocky and found producers, they didn't want him to star in it.
In all honesty, he did just get beat up in Rocky. I don't want to post a spoiler, but if you've never seen the original Rocky, it's very much NOT the movie you think it is.
You might be in a minority on that one. I know a lot of people think one of the other nominees for best picture should have won the Oscar that year, but the first Rocky movie is still pretty respected as a character-driven movie.
Load More Replies...Sly is an amazing man! Really cool and loves his fans. His brother, Frank Stallone worked with us in our studio (Alpha Wave) and we did a lot with some guy named Michale Sembello (LOL) who went on the not only do the song "Maniac" for Flashdance but played with Stevie Wonder as well.
Oscar is one of my favorite movies. He is so expressive and funny in it.
Sylester Stallone is a f****** dude! When I found he basically did everything in / for Rocky, I devoted to remember for the rest of my life that this man is a dude.
Not necessarily. Watch "Demolition Man;" he knew how to handle a 20th-century villain when the futuristic society couldn't. By the way, what was the deal with the three seashells?

I worked as CFO for a private company, and after 5 years of poor ownership and family-meddling I was let go with no notice or severance, while they owed me tens of thousands of dollars in back-pay, expenses, revenue share etc. I was on the verge of bankruptcy. I won my lawsuit and have a judgement against him and his company which I know I will never collect on.
7 years later I started my own company in the same competitive space. Following his most recent divorce he's about 2.7 million in debt. My company was just valued at 100 million as we move into our 4th year.
I get it, that the go-to response would assume the OP is a woman, since the family member referenced with male pronouns, but it was never specified. The male family member was not specified as husband either, just as family. To me, family meddling implies multiple relatives in a conspiracy.
This reminds me of my sister. Her first husband was a psychopath. Abusive, always told her she couldn't do anything without him. They started a business together, he always said he was the only reason it was successful. He had an affair with someone twice his age at work to further his career in the first year of their marriage and mocked her when she found out. She got away when he tried to kill her. Now she's the CEO and founder of an award-winning marketing agency, remarried with two kids, and thriving. Pretty sure he's still sleeping with his boss and struggling.
If the OP didn't build her company by treating her employees better than she was treated, it's not really a good revenge story.
Why don't you offer that guy a job working for your company? Then you'll be in a position to REALLY mess him up!
Jennifer Hudson lost American Idol and became more successful than the winner.
This is often the case with singing talent shows just look at One Direction, they came 3rd
And here in germany the contestants usually vanish into obscurity again after 2-3 years, only to suddenly show up in the jungle. makes me wonder why we even bother with these shows.
Being chosen to appear on something like American Idol is hardly a failure, no matter how you place.
Unless they want you to appear early in the season so everyone can laugh at how horrible you are.

Julie Andrews was very popular as Eliza Doolittle in the stage version of *My Fair Lady*. However, when the film version was being developed, the head of Warner Bros. Studios, Jack Warner, decided that she wasn't well-known enough. They wanted a big-name star in the role, so Audrey Hepburn was cast instead, despite needing her singing to be dubbed over. With the role no longer available, Andrews was instead took on the role of the titular character in *Mary Poppins*. The film was a **huge** critical and commercial success, and earned Andrews both a Golden Globe and an Academy Award for her performance as the magical nanny. In her Golden Globe acceptance speech, Andrews referenced her snub for *My Fair Lady*, saying: "My thanks to a man who made a wonderful movie and who made all this possible in the first place, Mr. Jack Warner.”
I feel sorry for Audrey Hepburn. She was going to sing herself but they decided she wasn't good enough and she was reallyupset about it. I've seen a YouTube version when they use her singing and comparing that with the dubbed version, and she sings just fine. Not Julie Andrews calibre obviously, but good enough.
I once heard recording of her singing before it was dubbed over. She had nice voice, but not strong enough for difficult songs in the movie.
Load More Replies...Ikr I hate the ending! (For those who don’t know)The book it was based on (Pygmalion) has a much more bada** ending where Eliza leaves Henry for good and goes and marries Freddy who actually loves her and treats her way better. I have an autographed copy of his best stories. Meet him at BosCon in the mid 70's. Very charming with a quick, sarcastic wit.
Using my throwaway for this. Been with my partner for 10 years. 10 years of gaslighting, being told that I am forgetful, pathetic and not going to ever be successful. My kids (not his) are now grown up, and at 50 I was diagnosed with ADHD and now being assessed for autism. That same year I achieved my Masters degree, and got myself medicated, and worked hard with my kids to help them onto their life paths as they became adults. This was over the last couple of years. Little does my partner know, that I am about to kick his gaslighting, narcissistic self out and while I am now verging on poverty, having been manipulated to give up my career to support him and my kids (as he, apparently, couldn't take on any of the emotional or practical roles to assist) I can assure you, dear strangers of reddit, that in a years time I will be successful and happier than I've ever been. Proving Sinatra right.
You can do it! I did then I went back to college and got 2 degrees oh and I was also labeled "slow" in school. I was not slow I was being abused by my family because I was different, and this caused severe anxiety and shyness which I fight daily. I can do without a mate to add to my life.
I applaud you. Your life will get progressively better. Good for YOU!
I admire this one more than the one about the company which is worth 100 million after less than 4 years of business. 😊

Erin French, chef-owner of restaurant *The Lost Kitchen* in rural Maine.
Co-owned a restaurant in the town of Belfast with her husband; a very tumultuous relationship ended with him changing the locks on the building with all of her equipment inside.
She licked her wounds, leased space in an old mill building in her tiny hometown of Freedom, and built from the ground one of the best restaurants in the country, with a coveted reservation that is fabled for its difficulty to get a table. Has her own multi-season documentary on TV and is absolutely killing it in the culinary world now.
Redemption story, to be sure. But during her marriage/first restaurant, she worked constantly and became addicted to alcohol and pain killers. It isn’t surprising the marriage fell apart. People often achieve success through obsession, and it can be difficult for those around them, and for their own health.
People who work in hospitality are at a much higher risk of alcoholism and drug addiction. It's one of the few things to admire about Gordon Ramsey, his brother died from it and he champions the cause to get them they help they need

Blockbuster laughed baby Netflix out of the room with their idea. Then later, grown-up Netflix killed blockbuster.
Netflix tried to sell to blockbuster in 2000 but blockbuster declined. They also offered to run blockbuster's online ventures, but were once again rejected.
Buuuttt...Blockbuster didn't mind who we 'shared' with..as long as it was returned on time..ha!
Blockbuster, AOL, and Kodak. Former giants that didn't adapt with the times. Kodak scoffed at digital photography, had they not, they'd be among the likes of Nikon, Canon, and Sony now.
In the early 2010's an executive Blockbuster heard an idea about renting DVDs from kiosks in stores and pharmacies, the executive thought it was a dumb idea.....then a year later, a company called Redbox came along....
I feel like eventually they would've kicked blockbuster out due to the popularity of streaming, or do you think they would've offered them some kind of partnership?
One of the most astonishing failures of a corporation. Blockbuster should've seen itself as a technology company whose technology was becoming obsolete. Redbox alone had made Blockbuster obsolete, and Netflix was the way to get back on top. Keep in mind that back in the day, Netflix was simply a way to order videos online.
Yes, they did. Blockbuster tried to do the same thing didn't they though and failed. I was with Netflix for a very long time until they started doing child porn stuff.

Many years later, I completed college, worked my way to a government career, bought a home, didn’t fall into the trap of having several kids and being on welfare like most of my family. He literally pushed me into success.
You pushed yourself into success. Your a$$hole uncle pushed you into a nail.
This story hit me like a ton of bricks... sadly, this is exactly how my uncle (dads brother - i never met my dad) treated me.. alll the time! He said all the same things and more. He was wrong :D
So, did you remove the nail from the door so no one else got hurt? jk, my uncle was a nasty piece of work to who ended up killing himself cause the loser couldn't stop drinking. Nasty child molester.
Well, at least your uncle was good for something. Probably not in the way he thought
The band Lynard Skynard named themselves after a teacher named Leonard Skinner who told them they wouldn't amount to anything.
Their fame with his name is the best F*** you I can possibly think of!

Mr Skinner was a gym teacher who gave one of VanZandt brothers a haircut because long hair did not follow the school's dress code.
When I was at university I had a friend who had a spare car parking space under his apartments, and as parking was difficult to find in the area I asked if I could park there and he said yes, so I did, for about a month until he told me to move it on Tuesday (tomorrow) as he was going to rent it out to someone. I told him I wasn't around until Wednesday morning, we had some sort of text argument but I literally said thank you, i'll be happy to pay how much you want for the day but I'm not physically back within 24 hours. Anyway, I get back Wednesday morning, and i've got a flat tyre. I was young, I thought it was just an abnormal thing, so I pump it up and drive off, and while travelling at 60mph lose the steering and nearly crash. Tyres flat again, it's got a puncture wound. He's clearly put a screwdriver through my tyre, so an AA callout and £150 later the tyres changed and i'm fuming. Cut to 6 months later, I didn't say anything to him (whats to say?), and there's a party at his one bedroom flat and i've been invited, weird but okay. We turn up, i'm enthusiastic to see him, neither of us bring up the car, I feel like he thinks he got away with it, that I don't know it was him. (I was told by a friend after the incident that he did do it). As the party is in full swing, I stole his microwave glass tray, his oven metal grill from inside the oven, I stole at least 4 left shoes, I took the power cable to his wifi router, and I took the plastic stop c**k from inside his toilets cistern just before we left. It was a massively successful revenge. Apparently he was complaining to mutual friends for months, I never told anyone about it, I just nodded my head and said "oh thats a shame".
I don't think that this story belongs to this thread. It's not the best version of oneself to get a pity revenge.
Let's see if I have this right....get revenge by committing a crime (theft and vandalism), and make sure the person has no idea this was a revenge. ✔️🤷♀️
This guy lets you park in a coveted space for a month without charging for it? Pretty nice of him. Then he gets the chance to actually make some money from it, and asks you to clear out for one day. You say no, start an argument (did you insult him?) and the guy loses out. Was he struggling financially? And were you well off? Just wondering. After this, you say he purposely punctured your tire. Was the person who told you that on the level? You sure? If so, it was certainly petty of the guy to stab your tire, but maybe he was angry and frustrated with you. Not only had you never thanked him for that month's free parking (a privilege which might have continued if you'd parked someplace else for one day) but you screwed him out of the chance to make a little money. Apparently, he didn't stay mad long, because he invites you to his party, where you presumably eat his food and drink his liquor. Then you steal his property? Damn. That guy needs some new friends.
Ok this is only pure revenge. The guy didn't do anything special or good.
One of my best friends in college was unpopular. The guys on my floor thought he was a dork and dismissed him. Five years after graduating he joined a dot-com as employee number 3. As the company grew he hired his friends, me included. Ten years after graduation he retired on his dot-com wealth. I love reconnecting with people from college and letting them know that RB retired at 35. The subtext is that if they’d been nicer to him they could have made millions.
Guy in my class in middle school was always sleeping from staying up late playing Halo 2. He was really good, like travel to tournaments and win them on weekends good. The teacher said “enjoy your video games now because you’ll be flipping burgers for life”.
He bought himself and his parents houses at 19 from youtube/streaming money.
I have flipped burgers all my life, too. I don't work in a restaurant. I just like to make myself hamburgers.
This is a hardcore example of how life is not fair. We look down on people flipping burgers, or playing video games, and we pay them poorly. By that logic, we must be looking down on teachers too.

Lucille Ball auditioned for the part of Scarlet O'Hara in "Gone With The Wind." After getting rejected by the studio producer, she met Desi Arnaz and became one of the most influential stars in the world. THE REVENGE: She founded her company Desilu and set up shop in the same office the producer rejected her in.
Desilu was quite a company. They recorded I Love Lucy on film and kept the repeat rights. They bought old studios for their productions. Lucille Ball personally commissioned the first series of Star Trek and Mission Impossible.
Star Trek, really? I've never heard this before. I love Star Trek, thank you Lucille!!!! mission Impossible was also a great show.

In the 1960s, Ford wanted to buy Ferrari. Just before they closed the deal, Ferrari slammed the door on them and let themselves be bought by Fiat. Ford, then, designed an entirely new supercar, beat Ferrari at the 24 Hours of LeMans from 1966-1969, and Ferrari hasn't won that race since against any other car manufacturer.
And for the icing on the cake, 50 years later, Ford entered again after not competing since the 70s, and won again.
If you haven't, watch the Ford VS Ferrari movie. Even if your not into car racing or know nothing about the story it's a very entertaining and funny movie!
I've put off watching it thinking I don't care enough about cars but now I think I will give it a go. Thanks!

A reporter for a local newspaper wrote a story about the contest and stated that Lawrence bore a striking resemblance to a young Carol Burnett. An avid fan letter-writer, Lawrence's mother urged her to write a letter, which Lawrence did, including the newspaper article. After receiving the letter, Burnett found Lawrence's father's name in the phone book, called him, and said she would go to see the Miss Fireball contest. Lawrence won the contest and Burnett was called to the stage to crown her. Coincidentally, Burnett was looking for an actress to play her younger sister on her upcoming show. After a few months and auditions, Lawrence got the part at age eighteen, specifically for playing Chrissy in the "Carol and Sis" sketches.
My story: I dated a girl in college who seemed perfect. Gorgeous, sweet, smart, really really rich, and killer in bed. After two years together and me basically becoming part of her family she abruptly broke up with me and told me flat out that she couldn’t see us together long term because she had a family and social network that would never accept her marrying someone outside of their social class and, I suspect, racial group (I’m hispanic and she was white). I never got that impression from anyone in her family or our friends group so it was a complete shock which I did not take well at the time, but as I was firmly in the group I kept in contact with most of her family and our by then joint social group. Very shortly after we broke up she was dating a lacrosse player from our school who was the prototypical J Crew model; tall, blonde handsome af and of course, very well off. Our friends knew it was a bad breakup on my end and would always tell me how big of an idiot she was but whatever, it just sucked a*s for a while. Long story short I struggled, but eventually moved on, graduated and began my career which started slow but ramped up after 5-7 years to the point where I was rubbing elbows with her dad and his social buddies on a frequent basis, and they were always totally cool with me. By then she wanted me back, but by that time I was engaged to my now wife and it was a complete non starter. All in all, that was 18 years ago, I am now quite successful both in career and finances, married with two great kids, and she’s a two time divorcee who desperately wants kids but can’t have them (abortion complications from said J Crew relationship) and struggles financially while living at home. When she came crawling back it certainly felt like revenge to turn her down, but at this point it’s more me feeling bad that she never found happiness or at least not yet (we’re in our early 40s now).
Poor woman, fertility issues is something that no one deserves. The rest of the story, well, that's life. I mean we all make decisions, and some turn out to be bad. Anyway, she's in her early forties, not very young but not old yet either, she can still turn her life around.
It's rare to hear this empathy and compassion. She could have handled it better but she simply didn't want to be with OP. Does not automatically make her a bad person - does anyone have an obligation to stay with the wrong partner? I don't love the implication that she 'got what she deserved' because she made the difficult decision to have a termination. We all make decisions in the best way we can at the time we make them, and have to live with the consequences of those actions - good or bad. The world would be a nicer place if we could all be a bit more understanding and kind.

Sony and Nintendo were working on a console together before the N64 came out, intending to utilize Nintendo's gaming hardware combined with Sony's sound tech to create games with more immersive sound capabilities than have been seen before. Partway through development and immediately following Sony's announcement of their partnership, Nintendo backed out of the deal, which if you're not aware of Japanese business etiquette, is kind of a d**k move. Nintendo backed out to work with Philips to put Nintendo games on the CDi, which resulted in the worst-received Nintendo games of all time. Sony, out of spite, went on to make the PlayStation, one of the best-selling consoles in gaming history, and cement themselves as a massive player in the console wars to this day.
I would get a PS5 over an Xbox just for Gran Turismo. I loved the first 2 when I had them. Now I have an original Wii console I got 16 years ago. It still works.

You're right. CD drive add-ons were all the rage in the early nineties, and Nintendo was lagging behind Sega in that aspect. What's more spite-inducing is that Nintendo broke the partnership the day after the reveal of the Play Station (or SNES CD) at CES.

Some of these are just hindsight bias. Honestly it seemed like company, person made decision to not go with the person, merger, product based on the information they had at the time. Thing, person, product, company went big, therefore the person, company who rejected them was dumb they should have just seen the future used their time machine and gone to the future and seen that their decision was stupid. Honestly, my take away is that people judge other people decisions on how it turned out not on the quality of their analysis based on the information they had at the time they made that decision.

They then contacted the couple who lost the law suit against the doctor. They counter-sued the surgeon & now not only did he have to pay millions to the malpractice suit, he now owed millions back to the couple he sued.
Ain’t it weird that folk mention how rich they are as the revenge? And now I’m successful because $$$$$….. how’s about, now I’m settled, happy, calm, I’ve contributed to my community, I’ve got a healthy relationship, I’m proud of who I am, I’ve got tons of love in my life, I have friends I can count on, I’m respected for who I am, I love my life?
Morals of all that Storys: never ever listen to people who don't believe in you, or take it as a challange. Also break up contact to those people as soon as you can to not let them continue to push you down.
Massive success is not revenge. Anyone thinking that is seriously broken.
I'm loving the memes featuring that the folding chair was invented and patented in 1855 by a black man, Nathaniel Alexander. A folding chair was used in the recent Montgomery, AL melee when a black person used a folding chair to beat the a$$ of a white redneck who had first attacked a black worker to telling them to move their pontoon boat. If you're not in the US, look up Montgomery melee and you'll find videos. Bad behavior on both "sides" but the white redneck "pontoon people" were at fault and should go to jail. The memes are very funny.
Chattanooga, TN: young golf pro was turned down flat when he applies to play in a country club's fish belly white Pro-Am while he was in town. Tiger Woods. Valley Rook Country Club, Cheat A New Girl, TN.
