I must confess, I’ve made some questionable fashion choices over the years. I don’t cringe at them the way I used to; instead, I just laugh and call my 2010s style ‘camp.’ Still, I’m thankful none of my more disastrous outfits ever made it online.
These poor dresses, on the other hand, weren’t so lucky.
They’ve had their moment in the spotlight on the Facebook group aptly named ‘You can’t just slap some fabric together and call it a dress.’ We feel a bit sorry for how much attention they’ve drawn, but we couldn’t resist putting together a best-of-all-time compilation of the ones we’ve featured on Bored Panda.

People buying this probably forget the model was styled for x-number of hours to get it to sit right to preserve 'modesty' and that not everyone's body type could even hope to fit it well. Then they will probably just throw it out (or make use of free return, where the company will throw it out, claiming it is being 'recycled') because if it was from Shein or similar companies they price them cheap, relying on people to make bulk purchases of clothes they don't care where they end up.

I’m not upvoting outfits on the runway because fashion shows are often about odd and extreme clothes. The designers want to make a statement and show off their creativity. The fashion brands tone down the style a lot for clothes that are sold to the public. The clothes they actually sell are inspired by the runway clothes - similar fabric, print or shape but are a lot more wearable.

I'm not looking to get down votes .... but I kinda like this. It shows a lot of skin, but doesn't look super sketchy like many of the other dresses on here. I could see it at a beach wedding. Get married. Whip off the dress and dive in the warm surf in the little bikini underneath. Throw it back on as a cover up when you get out. You'd have to be built like an emery board to pull it off though.

That's not what handkerchief dresses are supposed to look like... I feel so bad for the models that have to wear these monstrosities. Not only do they have to pose at the end in just the right way to demonstrate the intended design, they have to walk very carefully all the way up there first!

So far, this is the least-hideous dress. Neutral colour, fits the wearer, no weird accentuations. Cut outs are down to personal preference but they don't border on indecent so this one is OK. It probably costs more than a car if it's a fashion label though...

So much of what I see on runways and red carpets these days looks like it came right out of the Frederick’s of Hollywood catalog, stripper edition. Designed by people who think they’re creating wearable “art” (far from it), or who are trying to be noticed by creating clothes for their shock value, and not their wearability. Whatever happened to elegance, to class, to looking great and totally at ease, instead of uncomfortable and scared to death of making a sudden move that might expose everything? Whatever happened to clothes on runways that look like something a normal person would actually wear? Where are the beautiful fabrics, the flattering cuts, combined with comfort and wearability, clothing that you feel absolutely wonderful in? Why are we being shown s**t that cheapens us and lowers our credibility? Why are we not being shown clothing that makes us feel absolutely great and confident about ourselves?
