After the devastating explosion that took place in Beirut, many different clips capturing the event started spreading rapidly on the internet. One of the most frightening vids was this one, recorded by the couple Imad Khalil and Lina Alameh. Currently, this clip is considered to be one of the closest known footage of the Beirut warehouse explosion.

Apparently, during the explosion, this couple were standing less than 640 yards away from the blast site.

According to the couple who recorded this clip, the fire started small. After watching it grow from their balcony on the 11th floor, at some point, they began live-streaming on their social media accounts. After filming for a while, the woman started to feel like there was something extremely wrong happening there.

“What is that sound? Go inside, go inside! Imad, go inside!” the woman started insisting. Lina told CNN that Imad didn’t answer her and it looked like he was in total shock.

Soon enough, firework-like explosions started appearing—it was the first explosion. Thirty-three seconds after the first explosion, the second explosion happened.

“All I remember is flying up in the air,” Imad told CNN. Lina informed CNN that she was thrown through a glass door, which broke her elbow, cut a tendon, and injured her back. Moreover, she had cuts in multiple spots on her body.

As for Imad, the majority of his body had to be bandaged. According to CNN, he had wounds from his head to his feet, with severe cuts to his ankles and knees.

“Despite her own wounds, she says she began to move down 10 flights of stairs”

After waking up, the woman noticed that her husband was laying on the floor unconscious. “Lina tried to drag him toward the door, but says she wasn’t strong enough. Despite her own wounds, she says she began to move down 10 flights of stairs,” wrote CNN. Luckily, on the street, she came across her friend who is a policeman and he helped her bring Imad down using a door as a stretcher. Once on the ground, they were able to flag down an ambulance.

At the moment, the husband and wife both lay in a local hospital room

"Your wife is always right." My wife taught me this mantra. This man should learn it. His wife has a good heart and good intuition. Love and wishes for long healthy lives for them. And listen to your wife.

It is disappointing that people made sexist statements about this event. There are plenty of women that would have watched what was happening and plenty of men that wouldn't.
