Ads Versus Reality: 32 Disappointing Wedding Dresses
For a dress that you'll (hopefully) wear only once in your life, wedding dresses can be very expensive, prompting a lot of brides to hunt for ways to save some money. Sometimes, things work out, but other times, the dress can leave a LOT to be desired! These images show some of the worst dresses that brides and bridesmaids have received when trying to save!
If you've ever been let down when ordering a dress online, we'd love to see a comparison of your expectations and the results.

This is really not the same dress. I don't know if the bride asked to have some of the beading removed...but not same dress.
it looks like someone stuck see through toilet paper on to a tank top
Again, not too bad. Not perfection, but may look great on the right woman.
this isn't too bad, just needs alterations tailored to the wearer Most of these are fine , just need the proper undergarments & adjustments
I don't think the one on the right is a Vivienne Westwood too. Cheap knock-off!
That's the Crown Princess of Sweden right there. #UselessTrivia
this 1 is not 2 far off of the mark it needs 2 be altered to fit the wearer- most of these just need some alterations and they will be fine
I actually think the knock-off dress isn't too bad. I like the idea of the added color too.
well yeah... that's, why they are called fails/ they, are a cheap copy of the og
Load More Replies...You have 2 realize that the ads are the original dresses made by the designer. The 1 you buy is mass produced and made by average seamtrese
These aren't ads vs reality, these are originals vs knock-offs or IY attempts that failed. Not even close to the originals on most.
Don't get the point of this post. If you see an ad for a Rolls Royce and you buy a Kia, do you say you were misled by the advertising?
Reality check: Couture isn't cheap, and a model's size 2 isn't going to look good on another woman's size 12.
Did you not read the beginning they ordered the dress in the pictures on the left and received the dresses in the picture on the right.
a lot of people ight disagree with me- but i say that sometimes- (NOT all th time) if it more expensive, it has a higher chance of being better. if its 10 dollars for something that looks like it should be over 300 dollars, its way to good to be true. but this doesnt mean that you cant find amazing dresses at places like thrift stores, or other websites. im just saying sometimes you need to pay a bit more to get the dress of your dreams, but not like a million dollars more.
They aren't even the same dresses and some of them look ugly in the ad already.
Can't believe how thick people are. Unreal expectations of buyers, and stupid comments 'not same dress'... well duh!
This brings us back to that old saying : "You pay for what you get" & "Penny wise, but Pound foolish".
The dresses are different from the ads, but the models in the ads have had the dresses tailored to fit them, more color and decoration added
No these are the pictures they show u online ..and when u order from the Chinese company ..that's what they send.. I had it happen to me..too
this is the whole you get what you pay for. if the dress looks like it should cost $1000's of dollars, IT DOES! I feel sorry for those who are on limited budgets and are trying to get a dream dress, but go to consignment shops in your area or even the thrift stores. then at least you know what you are getting up front.
There's jewelry like that too. Pretty online jewelry, cheap prices. Also cheaply made. :-/
That $1000 look-a-like that you bought online for $50? Some crappy Asian knockoff that's not worth the $50 you paid.
i buy the number 5 for my wife but i previously check all the measures , then when the dress arrived one tailor adjust it and... bingo!!!
...alot about the seller. Done all this and always got almost exactly like the picture, minor differences. :)
...comments, the neg, pos & neut. If theres more than 1 neg comment leave the sellers dress don't buy even if its 100% comments tell you...
Where ever you buy online always look at the % rating of the seller. Always go for nothing less than 99% rating. Then go deeper, read...
Where ever online you buy a dress you have to check their rating % and then go deeper and look for neg, neut & pos feedback what is said.
how can you even think Photoshop in those cases?
