Once, when I was living in Japan, someone told me that you can spot an American easier than any other Westerner because we all have extremely straight white teeth. I was even told that American teeth are "unnatural". In cartoons and other parodies featuring Americans, they always exaggerate with insane large white teeth. My friend said that we're the only country that cares about how straight teeth are. Some in Japan consider crooked teeth cute. Aren't cultures interesting!

Tiffany, in that case, the Japanese must really love the Brits. Their 'socialized medicine' must offer nothing to help with a bad mouth, and when I was over there, I've never seen so mouths chock full of dental anarchy. :D

I'm 19 and have braces too.I have been wearing them for 9 months now. I'll get them off after 6 months. Looking forward to that day.

some of them (teeth) were not that bad, to me slightly crooked teeth are rather about unique-ness than ugliness. on the other hand some of them were really really bad, so braces made them very good service. i had a friend and she got crooked teeth because she was affraid to let anyone to pull out her tooth, that was already due to fall. and new teeth were already growing behind those old ones. and on and on to the point that her smile didn't looked very appealing(i lost contact with her, and don't know how's she looking now teeth-wise). makes me wonder, whether it was not the case here with many people on these pics. (i never had problem to pull my own teeth, i was disappointed when that era ended and there were no more milk teeth to pull)

Yes, I believe mine was crooked due not pulling out those teeth that are falling off. And it's 3 years into my braces now, hope to get it off soon! =D
